How do you chart your BBT ? Ive just started doing mine and on my 3rd day
Saturday 36.06°c
Sunday 36.03°c
When it dips does that mean your close to Ovulation or past ovulation ? My app doesn't actually explain what im supposed to be looking out for

Temp only drops after ovulation and you ideally need to dtd before ovulation. Monitoring basal temp will confirm you have ovulated and over time can help you understand your cycle. OPKs can help predict when ovulation is likely to occur. Google "Duofertility" , a device to monitor basal temp, lots of useful info on website.

Im only on CD9 so AF has just finished and im not due to Ovulate till Wednesday through till Saturday im starting OPKs tomorrow but was just wondering what a drop in temp ment so if it keeps dropping slightly does that mean im getting closer to Ovulation ?

Hi likely on the day of ovulation your temp will drop below 35 looking at your current temps. Then the day after it should shoot up.

I use the fertility friend app to record it all and it plots it for you :)

Cakelaur · 18/12/2017 08:55

Bbt isn’t used to predict ovulation. It’s used to confirm ovulation. There’s no guarantee that your temp will dip at ovulation but once you’ve ovulated it will increase. And stay elevated for at least 3 days.

Ok this is my chart as of this morning ... Its so confusing but my app wants me to chart it

Try the Kindara app for tracking temperature, I liked it. And Fertility friend as mentioned by a pp

Praisebe · 18/12/2017 09:05

I've been TTC for 2 years and have never bothered with BBT before only ever OPKs so it's so confusing to me Confused

Did you take temp at the same time before you got out of bed? Are you doing oral or vaginal?

Praisebe · 18/12/2017 10:13

Oral and the minute i wake up i take it so im a bit suprised in the sudden spike in temp im only on CD9

OP posts:
juneybean · 18/12/2017 10:55

Yeah it's a major spike! Yesterday did you have a dry mouth or anything?

Bluerose27 · 18/12/2017 11:21

See what happens over the next few days. I think if there's one anomalous temp you can disregard it - but you have to get a lot of day's readings before you can tell if it is anomalous .

Did you wake up to go to the loo and then go back to bed? As far as I remember, readings have to be taken after 3 hours of solid sleep

Cakelaur · 18/12/2017 11:43

That’s a massive jump. Were you doing opk’s as well? It may be that you ov really early and that’s why you haven’t caught it in previous months. Do you check cm as well? How long is your usual cycle? And also there’s not too much info as there’s only 3 temps. Ideally you need to have from cd1 (first day of your period) because you’ll start to see more of a pattern. I’d say 37 degrees is quite high, possibly you have a fever? So many options. But like op said give it a couple more days, keep DTD and see what happens. Kindara has a great community and it’s free. I ended up paying for FF but it’s great for telling you when you ovulated. And it was only £30ish for a years worth. I was using it for free for almost a year, paid and got pregnant that month! 🤦‍♀️

Praisebe · 18/12/2017 12:45

8hrs solid sleep and no dry mouth or anything temp was taken as soon as i woke up within seconds im starting OPKs tomorrow as its day 10 so will see what they say just freaked me out that it was a massive leap

OP posts:
Praisebe · 18/12/2017 12:47

28 day cycle
Cm is currently watery but a lot of it
We DTD every other day which we haven't managed the past few years of trying so we've really ramped it up this month

Bluerose27 · 18/12/2017 15:44

See how the rest of the cycle goes. As pp suggested you might have ovulated earlier than expected so next month be ready Wink

lauraxgirl · 18/12/2017 16:09

I can't post photos for some reason but does anyone have an idea on my data.....
(Graph would be so much easier)

CD12: EWCM

CD16: 36.29 - high OPK (clearblue)
CD17: 36.31 - high OPK
CD18: 36.61 - high OPK
CD19: 36.60 - high OPK
CD20: 36.46 - high OPK

Still no static smiley (peak OPK) for me but heard the ClearBlue OPKs aren't that great.
Is there chance I could have ovulated around CD16-17?

Cakelaur · 18/12/2017 22:54

I’d suggest cd17 was ‘o’ day. 👍

lauraxgirl · 19/12/2017 08:14

Thank you @Cakelaur 😊

lauraxgirl · 19/12/2017 10:28
