Stopped pill, strange stomach pains

Hello. I stopped taking Yasmin a couple of weeks ago, had a short breakthrough bleed (not unusual, usually was 1-2 days. Fairly light). I'm mid-cycle, have some egg white cm but for the last 2 days I've had a strange, low down stomach ache. It feels like I've done about 100 stomach crunches (I definitely haven't!)

Has anyone else had this? I promised myself I wouldn't over-analyse but here we are! :)

Sounds like ovulation pain

Ovulation probably. I remember ovulating after years on the pill and thinking WTF? Feels like a cross between an achy bloat and a sort of constipated feeling. Hard to describe. Leaves me feeling bruised.

Yes to feeling bruised!

Phew! Thank you both :)

Just wondering if it's common for ovulation to be painful / uncomfortable? The bruised feeling has lessened today but this morning I woke early with cramps, really felt like making a hot water bottle to help ease it.

It's not easy to not think about it when your body is doing all these strange things!

Yep. Some women get extremely painful ovulation, some get mild pains/cramps and some get none. Mine varies between no pain and mild pain but one month, I woke up in the middle of the night because I was having the worst pain in my right side. It’s totally normal and nothing to worry about :)

I get bad ovulation pain and cramps for a couple of days before and after it every month. I didn’t have these pains when on the pill as it stops you ovulating properly.

Thank you both :)
