How do the ovulation tests work

I have those little green strip ones. I've been getting two lines all week so how do I know when I'm actually ovulating?

When the second line is either as dark as or darker than the control line, it’s positive and you will ovulate around 12-24 hours later, usually the next day

I used this as it’s as above. Keep you old ones so you can track the darkness. When my second line started getting dark, i double checked with a clear blue ovulation stick as that was also positive. I got pregnant that month 😄
