Came off the pill in October, had usual withdrawal bleed and then waited for my period. I was aware that it can take a while for periods to come back so I was pleasantly surprised when I had a period November 21st. On my app I put my cycle as 29 days as have no idea having been on the pill for 5 years. Expected period December 20th but for the last 4 days been feeling v tired, nauseous in the mornings, cramps in tummy and going to the toilet more. Did a FRER today but was negative..

if I'm not sure when I'm actually due on, should I just wait to see if I get a period before doing another test? I hate being disappointed as this time I was seriously thinking I was pregnant! Thanks all!

I’d wait until you next expected your period i.e. 20th December. FRER can be used before you miss your period but your HCG levels might be quite low and you might get a false negative.

I know it’s difficult but it’s best to not test early if you want more accurate results.

Hi - so no AF today (is due today!) Did a FRER today but BFN 😥 will just have to wait for AF and then at least I know more about my cycle length!

Ah I’m sorry to hear that Sad have you been using opk at all to try and determine date of ovulation? Not sure if that’s part of what you are doing with your app but helped me as I learned that I ovulate a little later than most

My first period after coming off the pill was 29 days then it went up to 39 days the next month so I think it can take a few months for your body to settle back into a regular cycle! In my third cycle now so no idea how long it will be!

I meant to also say just wait a few days and test again if AF doesn’t arrive. It might be that your period isn’t due for a few days if you have a longer cycle. If this is the case the FRER test might not work yet!

Going to buy some OPK kits for next cycle so can see when actually ovulating! Thanks!

AF came yesterday 😢 but it was only 2 days late so hoping my cycle is getting back to normal-ish!
