Positive ovulation, no period, negative pregnancy test?

Is it common to ovulate and not have a period if it's your first ovulation since being pregnant and breastfeeding?

I stopped breastfeeding and then I happened to test for ovulation a few times and caught a positive ovulation. It's been more than two weeks now and nothing - no period but also no positive pregnancy test.

Was I really ovulating? Can it have been wrong in some way?

You might not have actually ovulated. A positive OPK only shows a hormone surge - it doesn't prove or guarantee ovulation and especially if you don't have a regular cycle sometimes the surge isn't followed by ovulation.

Unless you get a positive pregnancy test my guess is your cycle hasn't yet reasserted itself or you didn't ovulate at that surgery but later.

Thank you very much for replying.

The thought that I didn't actually ovulate is disappointing but makes sense. It was too good to be true to expect to be pregnant again after no periods!
