Hey everyone,

I came off the pill in Sept, had proper period Mid Oct (lasted about 5 days- standard period) now nothing!!!

I’m getting so down, I don’t want to get up in the morning. I know for many you’ll be thinking how can you get so down about that. But it’s really effecting me not knowing what my bodies doing or if and when I’ll get a period.

Has anyone else been through a similar experience?

X

It’s extremely common for your periods to be messed up after coming off the pill. It can take up to a year for your body to settle down into a routine. Try not to stress, it’s very early days. Unfortunately ttc is nothing but confusion and having no idea what your body is doing from one month to the next!

I’m just feeling like such a let down. Like I’m not “working” how I should. Because I was on BC for so long aswell, I genuinely cannot remember what my periods were like before and that’s also worrying me. I just hate all of this x

As others have said, it can take time for your body to regulate after taking the pill.

I do think you're being a touch dramatic... It's so very early days yet.

You’re working exactly how you should. Your body is doing a completely normal thing. You’ve been giving it fake hormones for a long time, it’s going to take it a while to figure out what’s going on and also figure out what it’s meant to be doing without them. You really need to just chill out and just let things settle down. Stressing can cause delayed periods also. Just know that it’s totally normal and is just a side effect of coming of hormonal birth control unfortunately.

Thanks for all your reassurance I don’t have anyone to talk to. I’ve not had sex in weeks as waiting for period to start “process” again also I just don’t feel like it!!!
