TTC "quirks"

Hey everyone, does anyone have any TTC quirks they follow when trying to have a baby? Mine are (strictly because this “worked” for me when I had my dad):

  • eating lentils!! I swear the month I conceived my daughter I was on a New Years kick and ate lentil soup every week day for lunch
  • rubbing my lucky bhudda. My mum bought me a wee golden bhudda statue when she knew I was sad that I hadn’t fallen pregnant yet and I rubbed it every day!

-abdominal massage. I went to a therapist and had an arvigo abdominal massage to help with period pains etc before I was TTC and I followed the self care massages religiously the month I conceived and I’m convinced this helped (even just getting blood flowing to my womb etc)

Love them esp the Buddha I'll try anything this month!

The massage sounds intriguing! How about reflexology? I'm considering that.

The month I conceived DD1 (the eighth of trying) I had acupuncture and was drinking an absolutely foul Chinese tea prescribed to me by the acupuncturist.

With DD2 I was very, very drunk on tequila the night we conceived- it was literally the first week of trying.

You can decide which is more fun Grin

@SpongeCake23 I would love to try reflexology! I had it before after I had dd and the therapist was able to tell me I was having Gynae issues without me telling her she said she could "feel" it

@FellOutOfBed2wice haha plenty of tequila this Christmas then!! Xmas GrinXmas GrinXmas Grin

TheIntrovertedMum I hope you're onto something with the lentil soup because I've been eating homemade lentil soup for lunch for the last couple weeks fx. There could be some science in it, I read somewhere that lots of hot food and drink is good for encouraging blood flow.

The month I conceived my daughter, I was out binge drinking every night (it was Fresher’s Week at uni) but I don’t advise quad-Vods and jäger bombs as a ttc quirk really. Although I’m considering just going back to relive my youth in the hopes that the sambuca shots will help Grin

TheIntrovertedMum · 08/12/2017 20:23

@Merrz mine was homemade too!!

@Bubblegum89 come to think of it we did have a rather boozy night during my fertile week with my dd! My previous pregnancy that ended in MC was also boozy (the first time we had sex after DD was born and first time drinking since having her Grin)
