For all those trying to conceive number two, and hoping for a festive bfp! Hop over from the previous November thread, or hop on if you're new. All welcome! Smile

My stats:

Age 37
DS 2
Cycle #10
TTC #2 for 10 months; no contraception and NTNP since DS was born in Sept 2015! 😮

Yipee! Congratulations mam!!! Finally a BFP! And so early in the month, please let this be a sign for us all...!!

8dpo here, bored out of my brain of waiting. Have wasted several internet cheapies and of course BFN... I don't even know why I bothered!! I'm a POAS addict Grin

Best of luck June! Maybe give SMEP a go too, just as a final hurrah to 2017?! Wink

MynameisJune · 06/12/2017 21:03

fly we do something similar to SMEP anyway but start from day 6 as I sometimes ovulate early. I’ve also started back at the gym because I was working out loads when I conceived DD so part of me thinks that will help (it can’t really hurt surely)

RhiBee29 · 06/12/2017 22:01

Congratulations @MamOfFrankie

@MynameisJune I've been thinking I need to up my exercise. I was in the gym a lot when DS was conceived and a stone lighter. Also we did SMEP.

CD7 here and waiting for fw, I've been ovulating around CD17 so going to try SMEP this month instead of dtd every day of fw as it's so tiring and gets very mechanical!

MynameisJune · 06/12/2017 22:09

@rhibee I’m only about 4lb over my weight when I conceived DD and I’ve surprised myself with how much I’m able to do at the gym after not going for two years. But I’m mainly going to try and help TTC rather than for weight loss. Although that would be a nice bonus as I’d still like to lose a stone or so.

I’m hoping it will help me feel a bit more positive and less anxious.

Flybynight1 · 07/12/2017 20:02

June you are going well to be so close to your pre-baby weight! I'm the same Rhibee, a stone heavier than before DS, I just haven't had the motivation to do anything about it, just far too tired! Exercise can only be a good thing!

9DPO here and feeling increasingly out this month already. BFN still (I had a faint BFP with DS on 9 dpo)

RhiBee29 · 07/12/2017 20:58

Weirdly lots of ewcm today and stabby pains but only CD8 and a negative opk. Maybe ovulation will be early this cycle, I'll keep POAS but usually don't ovulate until cd17.

SydBound27 · 07/12/2017 23:52

Hi all, nice to see familiar faces. (Although would obviously be better if were were all preggers and not on ttc forums but what can you do..!)

Congratulations @mam, lovely news.!

I'm 2dpo so in the beginning of a likely hellish tww ending days before Christmas.. at least it will be a reason to drink if its not our month. I ovulated late this month and dtd more than usual so hopefully we2re at least in for a chance.

When is everyone else testing?

Fingers crossed xx

SydBound27 · 07/12/2017 23:59

And I'm 35, dd is 2.5 and on cycle 19

I had a lap done last month to remove a polyp (which was preventing implantation) and sort my tubes out so this could actually be more like cycle 1. Gah!

Paranormalbouquet · 08/12/2017 12:22

Heart rate going up this morning so think I’m probably ovulating/ovulated overnight. Hard to tell as I’m just recovering from a horrible cold/cough. Don’t use OPKs as I work overnight a lot so catching a surge is hard, and I usually have very clear symptoms so know when I’m ovulating anyway.

Anyway have hardly done enough this month to conceive so on to January I think!

Paranormalbouquet · 08/12/2017 12:25

Hi Syd I hope this is your month, I’m keen to have a hysteroscopy/Lap as I’m concerned I have intrauterine adhesions but obviously need to endure more fruitless cycles/early miscarriages to confirm that. Have got severe cervical scarring (confirmed at colposcopy) and much lighter periods than before DD was born so am pretty convinced!

Flybynight1 · 08/12/2017 20:46

Hi syd! Sounds like you more than deserve a December BFP! Everything crossed for you Grin

I'll be testing Monday probably if AF doesn't arrive. I have used up all my Cheapy tests so have but one FRER sitting in the cupboard for use ONLY WHEN LATE!! I'm a serial POAS... Had a temp drop though today on 10dpo so I'm suspecting that test won't get used this month (I had an implantation dip with DS but that was accompanied by spotting which sadly hasn't happened this month so I think it's just AF on the way). Anywho paranormal I think I'm with you looking to January already!

SydBound27 · 08/12/2017 20:56

@paranormal i also had adhesions - or of my tubes was stuck to the wall of my uterus which couldn't have helped. They also found some endo so it was a bit of a mess! Not sure which area you're in but before i moved abroad the only fertility treatment/ diagnostic help i could get was the bloods and no more as i already have a child so wasn't a priority for funding. If you think you need the lap you might want to enquire with your gp and then go privately if possible. I only discovered the source of delayed fertility once i had moved abroad.

Fingers crossed you get it sorted, not knowing for sure is the worst!

SydBound27 · 08/12/2017 20:58

Thanks @flybynight. I'm similarly a poas addict so feel your pain of having run out of ics! Must hold out! Hopefully you get to use it Smile

Paranormalbouquet · 09/12/2017 11:46

Well I’m about to ovulate. Have usual cramps in my side and picked up some cheap OPKs in the pound shop this morning which agree. (Not a big fan of OPKs but thought I’d check today given that I’ve been sick). Will need to take a cough suppressant this evening I think! So I think the flu delayed ovulation by a few days. Assuming I ovulate tonight/tomorrow I can expect to start my next period Xmas day. At least I’ll be able to drink to get through it!

Syd I’ll probably need to go private I know, but feel I’m just waiting it out at this stage to let enough time elapse- I’m 35 next week so think in the new year I’ll get see about arranging a hysteroscopy. Given that I’ve got such extensive cervical damage following c-section and my periods have changed I’m hoping I might convince NHS to do that much. Working on losing a stone too (not very successfully!).

Then of course if I get pregnant I need to try to stay pregnant. Which is going to be tough with a cervix of

ImpatientMammy · 09/12/2017 19:40

So two people on the December board got BFPs today at 8DPO for me that's tomorrow. God it's lucky I havnt got a test in the house I'm not due AF for a week yet 🙈 x

LopeyLopez · 09/12/2017 20:46

So I'm 12 dpo today (ff) or more like 10 dpo (my estimation). But no spotting whatsoever. Just checked my chart history on ff and the last time I had no spotting or af by 10 dpo was April... so very unusual for me. I always spot unfortunately. Am I allowed to get a tiny teeny bit excited....?!

OP posts:
SydBound27 · 09/12/2017 20:54

@lopey errrr yes you are! That's rather exciting! How have you not tested yet at 12dpo?! Do it do it do it! Fx

ImpatientMammy · 09/12/2017 20:54

☺️ defiantly 🤞🤞 do you wait for AF to test? X

MynameisJune · 09/12/2017 21:03

@lopey that it massively encouraging and exciting. Keeping everything crossed for you!

LopeyLopez · 09/12/2017 22:39

@ImpatientMammy and @SydBound27, yeah I never test....just wait for af to appear. Occasionally test after af (!) as I have really short and light periods so sometimes I can't be sure whether I've had one or not, iyswim, and I need to make sure I'm def not pregnant to make sure I'm not drinking etc if I am.

I just hate seeing the negatives and would rather wait for af to appear.

Pretty sure I'm more like 10 dpo than12 anyway.....temps were all messed up round o day this month due to me having a fever, so I think ff got it wrong....

Cariad2017 · 10/12/2017 09:20

Ooooh Lopey this is supremely exciting. I shall be keeping everything crossed for you.

Waves at everyone else on this thread. This is Cycle 15 for me so I definitely hear you.

Currently CD14 and I suspect I’m due to ovulate today. Trying to take it easy this month as to be honest I’m utterly fed up with it all. My mouth is full of ulcers and I’m generally feeling run down so I’m not at all hopeful, but we’ll see... The timing of any pregnancy this cycle would be terrible for a number of reasons so although it would be amazing to invoke the law of sod and get a BFP, the next few cycles would be so much better timing wise!

ImpatientMammy · 10/12/2017 09:26

Awww @Cariad2017 hope you feel better soon. How long did it take to conceive your first? X

Cariad2017 · 10/12/2017 10:38

Thank you Impatient. It took 11 months in total to conceive DS but I got pregnant on cycle 2 (cp); cycle 3 after that (ruptured ectopic) and then finally with DS 5 cycles later. I totally expected another rollercoaster this time around but I certainly wasn’t expecting an entire year without a hint of a BFP, so this secondary infertility malarkey has taken me a while to get my head around...

Life is pretty hectic at the moment so I’m trying not to dwell too much on what isn’t going right in my life and focus on the positives. I can see objectively that having a bigger gap between children has its advantages so I’m trying to focus on those whilst enjoying a level of freedom that I never thought I’d have at this stage (as I was fairly confident when we started ttc this time last year that I’d at least be pregnant by now!)

ImpatientMammy · 10/12/2017 11:11

Awww bless you, you've definitely not had it easy. My sister is 7 years younger than me I helped teach her to walk probably delayed her speech by doting on her 24/7 and I still remember coming home from school to find her in the outfit I'd chosen. Although I'm sure we would have been just as close if we where closer in age the gap is amazing. She's just turned 18 and is a better aunty then I could ever wish for my DS. For my Mam she got to spend that special time with us both as I didn't demand her needs so much. I actually planned to have a similar gap but broodiness interfered. Big age gaps are amazing it's not just twaddle people tell you to make you feel better. I hope you get a sticky BFP soon though I think you've been through enough bless you xx

Flybynight1 · 10/12/2017 11:15

Cariad sounds like your head is in the right place. Focus on all the good things you have rather than don't have and enjoy life in the here and now. It is easy to get fixated on the things we want but don't have while overlooking the things we have and take for granted. I've learnt that lesson many times unfortunately!

Lopey test test test (says the POAS addict)!! When will you plan to? It's a positive sign for sure!!

I used my FRER in anger yesterday (cramping all day and generally in a bad mood sure that AF was on her way so just wanted it out of my cupboard!) and I thought there was a mega faint line so I cracked it open but I think it was just the test line indent showing through. But temps still high today and still cramping and I have no more tests Sad I nearly ordered some yesterday but I think just having them in the house is making me crazy so I'm going to resist and just see how it goes... I'll crack by tomorrow probably!!

Hope everyone has a good Sunday Cake
