Hello everyone,

I’m just looking for a bit of advice/reassurance!

I came off the pill in Sept, had usual withdrawal bleed then a standard period around 30 something days later!

I’m now CD42 and nothing! Not a twinge, hint of a period- nothing!

Did anyone else have this when they came off contraception?

Thanks

Katie

I've been going through this exact thing! I came off contraception at the end of September, had a withdrawal the first few days of October and then nothing. I finally came on my period yesterday (CD52!!!) I had a doc appointment for Thursday to discuss, I'm still going to go to see if there is any advice to regulate it but for me I was on contraception for around 8 years so think it's just my body trying to do it's own thing again!

Yes, I was on the Microgynon pill for the exact same time. You must be so relived you have come on, it’s bittersweet really as who enjoys being on their period!? Ha ha!

Would you mind letting me know what your DR says on Thursday please? I was going to go but as I’ve had a period and it’s still very early days (I also don’t have very approachable doctors)! Thought I’d leave it for a bit.

Thanks, Katie xx

Sure, I'll come back and update with what they tell me :)

Yes very bittersweet as although I'd rather be pregnant I was very relieved to come on finally!

I had the same when I first came off the pill, my cycles were about 40+ days for a while. It’ll be your body adjusting to being off the pill and hopefully it should settle down! Hope AF appears soon for you.

When you're on a contraception for so long and come off it, your body goes into a kind of shock, it has to go back to when you're periods first started and learn to regulate itself instead of a tablet doing that. I wouldn't worry too much regarding it yet, just let your body make reestablish itself and find it's own way again xxx
