Anovulation after m/c

Hi,

I had a missed m/c 2 months ago. I had AF 4 and a half weeks after the m/c was complete which my GP thought was normal. However it was lighter than usual and lasted on and off for two weeks. This is not normal for me. Two and a half weeks after the start of that AF I had about 4 days of EWCM and an outbreak of spots, so I thought I must be ovulating. However I have 2 concerns.

Firstly my temperatures do not really suggest that I have ovulated. In the first month post m/c temps were a bit all over the place. I thought I may have OV'd, but I wasn't sure. This month my temps were so low for the first half of the cycle (between 35.4 and 35.9). Then they shifted to between 35.9 and 36. This coincided with the end of the EWCM. Previously my temps were around 36 pre-OV and around 36.2-36.4 post OV. Also I had some quite sharp throbbing pains at the time of the EWCM. But this would switch from side to side so it seems unlikely to be OV pains.

Secondly I usually have sore boobs in the week or so before AF. However this has not happened since my m/c.

I am worried that I am no longer ovulating. I just wondered if anyone else had this happen after a m/c?

Sorry for the long post.

Hi jess we?ve met before. I hope you are ok.

I can only speak from my experience and from what I?ve read. It does seem that lots of ladies have their cycles a bit messed up for the first few after a MC. It?s really frustrating but I guess our bodies have been through a lot.

I got my AF 40 days after my MC (I was 10 weeks) and it was almost as heavy as the MC itself. Like you, I temp and my temps were pretty high pre OV (I?m normally 35.9/36 pre OV that cycle they were as high as 36.3) and then hardly rose after OV (highest was 36.5) which didn?t happen until cd33 so my LP was only 7 days and I had spotting from 5dpo. I thought the cycle was anovulatory too until the late OV on cd33 (usually, I am cd16-18). I?m hoping that this cycle will be more normal but I?m not holding my breath.

With regard to your temps, they do seem pretty low pre ov, I know that when they are too low, they can indicate thyroid issues. It doesn?t sound like there was a big enough thermal shift for OV either, from memory, I think it should be at least .2 above your pre ov temps. Its progesterone released from the follicle that makes your boobs hurt so if there was no OV there?d be no progestrone.

Have you looked at the anovulatory charts on ovusoft.com? they can help.

I hope things work out for you soon
