So I had some bloods done on Tuesday to check my progesterone levels after discovering I had a luteal phase of only 8-9 days I got my results to and all the receptionist told me that was that they are “normal” and no further action.. I feel I’m no further forward ? Help

Make an appointment to discuss the actual results with your GP. I recently did the same. You can request a print out of the results too.

Definitely go to speak with your GP about the result- surely they could have given you the actual result?

Anything over 30 (I think) means that you ovulated that cycle.

Guidance on what confirms ov varies from place to place, annoyingly. Mine was 18 and I was told that meant ov had happened; however, a friend in a different part of the country was advised 30+. And in the US, 10+ confirms it!

Ah, I had the same. I asked the receptionist to ask the GP if it was okay to know the number and she called back the next day - it was 40.5 so well above the 30.

Hi,

I was told mine were 'ok' as well but they turned out to be 21 and over 30 shows ovulation. The units matter as well as they can vary and can make google even more of a nightmare than normal! Mine was in n/mol I think. A scan showed I was actually ovulating but when I mentioned my progesterone test results to my consultant they then prescribed progesterone supplements. So definitely worth asking for a bit more detail!

I had the same wth my hcg she said normal no action. I said but what is the number? She said she was not medically trained and didn’t know about these numbers. I told her I did and all I needed was the number. She told me it in the end

My doc has literally called me about 30mins ago and told me mine were 32.5 and so that was confirmation of ovulation but I'm still getting bfn's on opk's. I test 3 times a day for the whole month last month and not even a squinter of a line. So, I'm just using temps, cervix position an cm. She said that would be it now until the full 12 months have passed which will be 15 cycles approx! So annoying. Xxx

Thank you all for your replies.. I wish I made an appointment straight away as I’ll have to wait until Monday before I can phone them now! I’ll of we’ll and truly cracked up by then! It’s so awful not even knowing your own body! Xx

Ok so I’ve just been to see the GP to find out exactly what my levels were and they were 51.8 . Am I right in thinking this is pretty good ?
