Hi ladies

new to mumsnet so go easy on me with the acronyms!
My husband and I have made the exciting decision to start a family. I've recently come off cerelle after taking it for a year (I took it constantly and still had withdrawal bleeds monthly throughout even though they're supposed to stop on cerelle!).

I have always been regular with my periods (every 28 days). I am now on day 30 and still no withdrawal bleed. I know that it is possible to be pregnant that quickly but I'm just doubting myself. I've noticed weird things about myself as well as the lack of bleeding i.e. becoming intolerant to milk, frequent peeing, mood swings like you wouldn't believe. Do I go to the GP or do I take a home test first?

Nervous and confused potential new mum!!

You take a home test first. GPs in the uk won’t confirm because home tests are incredibly accurate.

Spam88 · 19/11/2017 21:16

Do a home test, you probably don’t need to see your GP even if you are pregnant.

FWIW, it took 5 weeks for my periods to come back after stopping Cerazette.

CrazyCatLady71 · 19/11/2017 21:44

Thanks both! I’ll take another test tomorrow in that case. I’m morning concerned as this is what I want but I’m just confused because I’m usually so regular! Smile

When I can off that pill my body did some crazy things! I came off mine on the 2nd of October. Took me 29 days I think to have my first cycle with no withdrawal bleed.

Good luck xx

Hello

I'm totally new to this forum and yoy new to ttc.

I've been on contraception (cerelle) since 2015 and my periods have never been regular on it. My last period was October then I was 16 weeks late and my periods came, but that was only after I stopped my pill.. is this my period or my withdrawal bleed? I'm so confused.

How soon would I be likely to conceive?
I'm 28 next month, engaged and hoping to have our baby before our wedding in July 2019 xx

PennyMay123 · 14/12/2017 22:15

Hi all! I'm new to all this too and only stopped taking cerelle on 10.12.17 to TTC. Il be 28 on xmas day and think I'm really to be a mum Smile

Am I right in thinking that you don't get a withdrawal bleed from this pill as it's progesterone only?

I was on cerelle for 6 months previously and had no periods, prior to that I had implants in for approx. 4 years and didn't have periods on that either.

Can you get pregnant straight away after stopping cerelle? Has this happened to anyone without getting their period after stopping cerelle?

Thanks x

SomebodysNotInBedYet · 15/12/2017 00:38

DD was conceived immediately. I stopped taking cerelle on 1st October 2015 and was concerned that I still hadn't had a period by the 30th (they'd stopped completely on cerelle) and took a test. It was positive, she's now 17 months old :)

PennyMay123 · 15/12/2017 06:24

That's amazing!

I'm worried as I haven't had a period in so long and I kept reading about it takes women ages for their periods return. Your post has given me hope early on. X

CRZ1988 · 15/12/2017 10:42

Hi ladies,

I was on cerelle and finished it on the 22 Nov and had a period on the 1st Dec. Some research claims that you don't have a withdrawal bleed when coming off cerelle because it's a mini pill and not a combined hormone pill.

I'm in my first cycle post cerelle and seem pretty back to normal to be honest. I've been on the BCP for 13 years.

Fauxyorkshire · 15/12/2017 11:09

Oh this makes me so excited. I'm hoping to be pregnant by my birthday at the end of January. It would be such an amazing birthday present!!!

Do any of you use an app to check when you're most fertile?
As my periods haven't ever been regular I'm finding it hard to check..

Thanks!!

stuckfornames · 15/12/2017 11:13

With DD I fell pregnant a few days after coming off cerelle so never actually got a period!

I'm pregnant again now, but took 4 months to fall after coming off.

PennyMay123 · 15/12/2017 12:18

I think I will wait until mid to end of January 2018 (1 month to 6 weeks off cerelle) to do a pregnancy test if I haven't had a period by then.
I know it's very early but I'm so excited TTC!

Fauxyorkshire · 15/12/2017 12:58

What is DD? Haha!

mumready · 15/12/2017 14:21

I think it's Darling Daughter? And DS is Darling Son.

stuckfornames · 15/12/2017 15:54

DD is darling daughter 😊

mumready · 30/12/2017 18:47

@Fauxyorkshire @CRZ1988

Hi both! Just wondered how you are both getting on with TTC?

Only thing I have noticed since stopping cerelle approx 3 weeks ago is that for the last 4-5 days my boobs have been really sore and felt full and heavy (not had this before). I'm wondering whether it is due to ovulation maybe but not sure?
I'm a bit clueless about all this x

Fauxyorkshire · 30/12/2017 18:56

hey!

I've been the same, I'm logging everything on Ovia app and have noticed massive changes in my mood and my boobs are so sore.

According to my app I'm fertile now but nothing is showing on ovulation tests and my CM doesn't match with what is said yo be fertile either.. so lost in all this! Hoping for a lucky positive in January.xx

mumready · 30/12/2017 19:04

@Fauxyorkshire

I might try that OVIA app and see how that goes.

I'm going to hold out doing any pregnancy tests until mid January at least as I think it will be too early anytime before that.

X

Fauxyorkshire · 30/12/2017 19:05

Yeah for sure. My app tells me to do one in the 15th January! Xx

CRZ1988 · 30/12/2017 21:20

Hey ladies,

I use Ovia and it's been pretty much spot on. AF arrived today a day earlier than predicted but it's just heavy spotting so expecting the full start tomorrow which would be bang on.

I like Ovia as I can log all my 'symptoms' and can get emails telling me what to expect and things to look out for.

Must say I was v disappointed when AF arrived. Had a cry in the shower after hubby exclaimed that surely I couldn't have expected it to happen on the first try. Well no I didn't expect it but I really didn't want my period either. Cheers fella 👊🏻

I've had the most grotesque nausea and sore boobs which apparently is just my pms (Mother Nature had 13 years of it stocked up apparently....) and I've had a shocking headache today. Also tiredness. Been very tired. Aaaaallllllll pms.......slow clap

xLeannejn · 31/12/2017 17:31

Hi all :) speaking of ovulation apps/trackers I'm currently using Flo but I don't rate it much already to be honest is ovia better? X

CRZ1988 · 29/01/2018 09:27

Hi ladies, there is hope! I got my bfp on Saturday! Second cycle.
