CB digital ovulation tests

My pregnant friend has given me some CB digital ovulation sticks but I was hoping to use my CB advanced holder so it recognised my hormone pattern instead of hers (she already used one in the pack). Does a regular CB digital stick work in an advanced holder? And would it be flashy smiley or just yes/no?

I’m pretty sure you need the advanced sticks for the advanced reader.

It definitely won't be able to do flashy smiley, but I suspect it won't work at all, sorry.

Thanks both, much appreciated 😌 I did try it (because am a glutton for punishment, apparently) and it worked but it showed an 0, so not sure if that means it will work or not! May just go for it with her old holder, and hope that it’ll recognise my hormones after a couple of gos! (Bless her, she said so casually she’d only used one in the pack and I was like ‘In no way have I spent about 400 quid on these things in the past year...)
