I don't think I ovulate

Few months now and no positive Opk, faint one yesterday, zilch today. Regular 28/29 day cycle.
Totally erratic temps. Had no hormonal contraceptives for years.
I’m really wondering what my next steps should be? I am convinced I just don’t ovulate.

Really struggling tbh as a new baby arrived into the family not so long ago.

I’ve never got a positive opk in 3 years but have had a baby in that time.

Discotits · 15/11/2017 21:40

They don’t work for everyone, if you’ve been trying for a while may end go and see the doctor?

ClondawWarrior · 15/11/2017 21:42

I’ve got an appointment booked im just wondering what the next sort of process is?

I just feel pretty useless. I’m wondering if a clear blue fertility monitor is worth the money or if we are wasting money?

Sorry to ask a very personal question but do you get egg white cervical mucas? This indicates ovulation. You may ovulate early in your cycle for example

Discotits · 15/11/2017 21:44

I’ve beem using the strips this months and I’ve not had a positive the whole month, I have had two children though. Maybe try a month of the clearblue one?

ClondawWarrior · 15/11/2017 21:49

I do have cm but it really does vary, it’s never EW it’s like clear water, and I couldn’t find much on it reliably showing ovulation.

It’s quite expensive the clear blue kit £80 so I need to have a good think.

I have a dd but 6 years ago and so much has changed since then. I didn’t know I was expecting for 6 months also

Have you tried the clearblue digital OPK? I don’t think I’d go for the fertility monitor before trying those. I think you could also try temping to confirm ovulation. But more importantly than anything else you should be having regular sex throughout your cycle. X

MouseLove · 15/11/2017 22:02

Sorry I missed your temps are erratic. Have you had your thyroid tested?

Justbookedasummmerholiday · 15/11/2017 22:05

Cheap strips.
Test at 2 pm and 10pm.
Check an app like Glo to advise when to start testing.
I have never had /noticed ewcm and have many many dc!!

Hamonrye · 15/11/2017 22:05

I never had a positive ovulation test and I have 3 little ones! Also sometimes only had water cm and not always ewcm - supposed to be just as fertile.

ClondawWarrior · 15/11/2017 22:09

I’ve used cheap opk and clear blue opk, both twice a day. Never had a high or full positive.
Temping I was doing but so erratic and I’ve been using FF and Flo (think that’s the one)

We’ve also tried the throw it all out of the window approach. DP is having his test later in the month and I’ve got an appointment booked but I really am convinced it’s me that is the problem.

I’ve cut down on sugar and caffeine but I’ve recently lost 4 stone which I gained after having dd due to depression meds. I’ve another stone to loose. I’m worried that in the five years I have been a smoker (been quite a good while now) and I have relied heavily on caffeine in the past and I’m so worried I’ve really been quite reckless in my 20s regarding my health!

ClondawWarrior · 15/11/2017 22:12

I wonder if I can request a thyroid test

myusernameisnotmyusername · 16/11/2017 20:59

I’ve been using the tests from eBay and thought I had a positive last month. At the same time I’d had a blood test and that showed I hadn’t ovulated so I completely don’t trust the tests now. And I thought my temperature had indicated ovulation too. Ask your doctor for a blood test.

myusernameisnotmyusername · 16/11/2017 21:00

Sorry I didn’t see you said you had an appointment booked.

ClondawWarrior · 16/11/2017 21:13

Thank you @myusernameisnotmyusername

Ovulating? 9

Hi ladies, so I have been trying the clear blue ovulation test for the past month and it kept on saying lim it ovulating but I was al aye testing after work about 8pm I don't know if that makes a difference anyway I tried a test just now before going to work and it's coming up with I am ovulating. When would you advise to have intercorse? Is it limited the time up until I can have intercorse if I'm trying to conceive?

Sorry forgot to attach a picture

With CB opks you are meant to test using FMU, so I'm not sure if your results are reliable or not.

Yesterday 12:44 MouseLove

You should have sex every other day of your cycle to be classed as “actively trying” to get pregnant. Also as Sandra pointed out. You should be using FMU with the clearblue tests.

Sorry guys I don't know what a fmu is?

Yesterday 13:06 Stee1

Full morning urine fmu

Yesterday 13:13 Sandra800

That is what I used first thing in the morning before going to work xx

Today 09:55 SaturdaySauv

It's first morning urine (not full) as in the first wee you have on waking which will be most concentrated.

Sorry to jump in (hope you don’t mind me asking a question) but I’m trying ttc #2, I stopped the pill in sept and my bleed came 28days later, then my period 26 days later so seems I may be going back to my regular periods, but I have no CM (cervical mucus) so I’m worried I may not be ovulating. Has anyone else conceived with no CM, or will it return in a few months? I’m 32 and was on the pill about 2 years. Thanks for any help.

Kit1411 · 17/11/2017 11:25

Sorry for all the above, I copied my text which I also posted on another post and it seems to have copied the whole conversation! My question is the last one if anyone can help.
