TTC with high platelets, need aspirin maybe?

Since the Drs won't do any testing till 3 losses we decided before TTC again I would have some private tests done to see if there is anything I can do to improve my health.

Got the results today and I have high platelets - normal range 150-400 but mine is 600!

5 weeks before my MC I had bleeding with clots, during my MC I had massive clots which led to hospitalisation. At the time my partner and I thought it wasn't right and actually AF is also very clotty (sorry TMI!) so I am not really surprised that my levels are so high.

I am also waiting on APS test results, again done private and I ordered this due to the ridiculous level of clots during MC.

Does anyone here TTC have high platelets? I wondered if there are any special precautions for you while TTC or during pregnancy?

I have seen a lot of mention of aspirin on TTC threads and wondered given this information I should consider taking aspirin when I get pregnant again.

I will of course talk to my GP abut this, but interested to know if anyone has experience, especially as I would like to be a bit clued up when going to the GP so I don't just get shrugged off.

I have incredibly high platelets (upwards of thousands above normal) and am under the care of a haematologist for it. It is called thrombocythemia and should be investsigated as it can be a sign of bone marrow disorders.

I have taken baby aspirin for years and continued during TTC and pregnancy. Had two successful pregnancies (one after trying eight months, one after only trying for a month) but be warned- the aspirin increases you’re likelihood of haemmorage during labour and despite intervention I did have two large haemmorages.

Did you stop the aspirin late pregnancy or stay on the whole way? Our trust appears to give aspirin and sometimes clexane too for ladies with clotting disorders acording to their policies. It seems mine is on a much lower scale than yours though!

I was already meant to be on 75mg aspirin from 12 weeks as I had pre-eclampsia in my last pregnancy 13 years ago. But my dating was wrong and when I had a scan found I was 9 days ahead of what I thought and pharmacy wouldnt sell me aspirin so had to ask GP for it. I miscarried the next day.
