TTC and breastfeeding

We have a dd 2y3m who I intend to breastfeed to natural term.
My period came back when dd was 17 months.
We've just started the dc2 and I'm wondering if breastfeeding is likely to have a negative impact, or am likely to be back to my regular level of fertility now?
Does anyone have any scoerience/ advice please?
Anyone else still bf?

No knowledge here but I got pregnant while BF. My period came back once baby started eating 3 proper meals a day and got pregnant on the first period. I was pretty (pleasantly of course) surprised. I think if your periods start again you’re good to go but I’m basing that on no knowledge whatsoever! Best of luck and congratulations on your length of BF service!

I’m still bf’ing dd2 at 18months (all the time) periods haven’t returned and just had a bfp- although I did notice ovulation a few weeks ago. If your periods have returned have you checked for signs of ov or tried opk’s? Best of luck

All depends on whether you are ovulating. I had to night weaned before I started ovulating. But I also wasn't trying to get pregnant (night weaned for other reasons).

My period came back at 14 months after I stopped expressing. Continued to BF for 2 more months. The first cycle after full weaning, I got pregnant. However looking back I'm not sure if that's because BF was suppressing my fertility, or because my libido went through the roof after I weaned

I'm not sure if I'm ovulating. I've never really had noticeable ovulation pains; I do get ewcm though.
I've got some opks, but haven't tried them yet (We were waiting until Christmas to ttc but at the weekend thought did it, let's crack on).

Despite having regular cycles and having positive OPKs every month I couldn't get pregnant whilst breast feeding.

After 10 failed cycles I decided to stop breast feeding to see if it made a difference and I fell pregnant straight away.

Hi! My DD is 8 months, night weaned and on 3 day feeds. No period as of yet. I'm reluctant to completely wean her but really keen to get on with no 2! Anyone any luck with charting basal temp and conceiving without AF??
