I've been with my employer since 21/08/17 if i was to fall pregnant this month would i be entitled to maternity pay?

It depends on your company procedures and when you fell pregnant. But usually the general rule of thumb is if you fall pregnant whilst working there you are entitled to smp only but not and additional mat pay of your company has it. There's a government calculator you can check xx

Every employee, no matter length of service, is entitled to maternity leave (paid or unpaid) of 52 weeks.

To be entitled to SMP you must earn at least £113 per week, give the correct notice and proof (obviously!!) and have worked for that employer continuously for at least 26 weeks up to your qualifying week (the 15th week before the baby’s due date). This is a statutory right for anyone who is pregnant and have service that is long enough. Companies cannot make the decision to not pay you SMP as long as you fit the above criteria. SMP is payable at 90% of your average earnings in your qualifying period for 6 weeks then 33 weeks at the standard rate of £140.98.

If you don’t qualify you can go to the job centre with a form your employer should give you and you would receive maternity

A company may give enhanced maternity pay but that is at their own discretion and company policies.

Like the above poster stated, there is a calculator on the HMRC website that allows you calculate if you would be entitled (it can also be done in advance). It’s really handy and pretty self explanatory.
