What is the actual ovulation day (cervical mucus)

I have regular 28 day cycles and recently wanted to find out when I ovulate. I noticed
Day 13 some mucus
Day 14 lots and lots of mucus, egg white stretchy
Day 15 less than day 14 but more than day 13
Day 16 maybe just a little bit
Day 17 just a bit

From this I would think I ovulated on day 14 or 15, however I also used ovulation strips and got no second line at all until day 17. I think I got a positive but wasn't 100% . However your meant to get a positive 24 hours before you actually ovulate meaning I wouldn't have ovulate till day 18, on a 24 day cycle and my mucus being far less.

I am confused by this, does anyone know when I likely ovulated?

If it was definitely a positive opk, then you ovulated between 12 and 24 hours after that so maybe day 17 or 18. However, opks have to be used at the same time every day and it's best to not do a wee for at least 4 hours beforehand, so it's possible to get it wrong.

If you DID of ovulate on day 17 or 18, then it sounds like your luteal phase is a bit short.

Oh, 28 day cycle! In that case, if the OPK was definitely positive, you probably ovulated on day 17 or 18

This would make your luteal phase 10 days, which would be the lower side of normal

I have a very regular 28 day cycle. Last cycle I didn’t ovulate until cd20 and got my period 17 days later. I think it’s faitiy standard to have a squiffy cycle now and again. But if it’s happening all the time, I would speak to a doctor. A short luteal phase can sometimes cause issues as it doesn’t leave enough time for an egg to implant

I agree with @Bubblegum88, you seem to have a luteal phase of around 10 days this particular cycle but do remember that it can vary by a day or two (although not really more than that) so you may usually have an luteal phase of, say, 11 days. The lower side of normal.
