Spotting but no AF - how common is it to get BFP?

My period was due on Saturday. I had some slight spotting on Friday evening, so thought it was on its way. Then nothing, until more spotting yesterday. Still nothing. I'm usually very regular, but after TTC for a very long time and after a MMC 10 months ago (first BFP I've ever had), I'm now working myself up into thinking I could be pregnant. I'm 44.
I know I should test, but I can't go through all the stress again. I waited until I was 8 days late last time, then 3 days after I miscarried.

I cant even say the words in RL so I'm posting on here.
Please tell me to get a grip!

I spotted with my last pregnancy on the day I missed AF. I was convinced it was coming, then nothing. I've spotted with two pregnancies out of four so 50/50 for me. The only way to know is to test. Good luck
