How long to conceive dc2?

stevensupersquirrel · 10/10/2017 22:39

We conceived dc1 on cycle 5 (after a cp on cycle 4); I was 34 dt the time.
We're planning to start ttc dc2 in December, when I will be 37.
I was just wondering about people's experiences ttc dc2? Have you found that it has taken longer?

DC1- one missed pill, wasn’t ttc at all

I’m on month 11 of ttc now...

notfunnyhaha85 · 10/10/2017 22:49

DC2 was conceived the first month of trying with the use of the clear blue digital ovulation monitor and some conceive easy gel. A small investment for a very happy return Smile also important to add that I was 30 when we started trying and fell pregnant with minimal effort. DC1 took nearly four months and I was 24.

Good luck with baby number 2!

mamalovebird · 10/10/2017 22:50

Dc1 was not planned.

Dc2 was planned but took 10 months to happen. I was so stressed about it I went to tgr doc who made a referral to have me checked over but also said I wouldn't need the appt as I would be pregnant the next month..... he was right!

CoconutGal · 11/10/2017 08:22

DC1 unplanned however TTC numbed 2 currently & we are on month 10, going for tests this week to find out what’s going on. I agree with previous posts, it does get stressful & it’s hard not to let it get stressful.

micropreemiemum · 11/10/2017 08:25

9 months, we are 22

Metalhead · 11/10/2017 09:31

DC1 was conceived on cycle 2 (age 30), DC2 took about 18 months and a mmc (started ttc at 34).

Equally I’ve read lots of stories on here of people who got pregnant quickly second time round after trying for ages with their first. Just goes to show that you really can’t tell!

MotherOfBoy · 11/10/2017 09:40

DC1 - one period then upduffed (age 23)
DC2 - 7 months (age 26)

MrsMogginsMinge · 11/10/2017 09:50

DC1, aged 34 - 2 mths.
Now aged 37, in TWW of cycle 7, not sodding pregnant yet...

MrsMogginsMinge · 11/10/2017 09:52

That said, I know quite a few people who took a while with DC1 and so started trying early for DC2 and ended up with 2 under 2. I thought I was being clever avoiding that trap!

CPtart · 11/10/2017 09:52

DC1 - 3 months (30)
DC2 - 1 month (33)

BertramTheWalrus · 11/10/2017 10:03

DC1 2 months aged 30
DC2 1 month aged 31

GlitteryFluff · 11/10/2017 10:35

I should add we finally got bfp for dc2 after using ovulation tests that cycle. I should have started using them much earlier on.

lookingforthecorkscrew · 11/10/2017 10:41

Conceived on cycle one in Jan but ended in miscarriage. Just got second BFP this week, so took about 6 cycles after miscarriage (cycles were crazy for a while).

skankingpiglet · 11/10/2017 10:42

DC1 was the result of a one-off contraception failure.
DC2 was conceived in the second month of trying, although we weren't trying particularly hard TBH. No keeping a track of my cycle, DTD once the first month and twice the second.
We've been very lucky and are now very careful with the contraception.

Livingondaisland24 · 11/10/2017 10:43

Dc1 6 months 23
Dc2 2 years started trying at 26

cliffdiver · 11/10/2017 10:48

DD1: Cycle 1 (24)

DD2: Cycle 1 (26)

stevensupersquirrel · 11/10/2017 14:14

Thanks for sharing your experiences. Seriously considering just going for it sooner than planned!

DS 1 surprise

DS2 got pregnant on cycle 8

VJONES1985 · 13/10/2017 14:40

I'm 32 and we are just about to start TTC cycle 1. We conceived our son in the third month of trying (used SMEP when I was 28), but I'm already anxious about TTC for the second time because I'm over 30 now :-(
