Feeling shit

So I'm feeling shit. Hubby and I getting down to DTD and I suggest putting on the conceive plus. He then decides to go down there beforehand at which point I flip out because saliva slows the swimmers down of course. The whole emotion just seems to have gone and it has now become so mechanical in order to make a baby. I'm so down.

TTC sex can get so depressing. I totally understand how you feel. I've had points where I've got really angry in the morning as we made the day's plan because I knew there'd be no time for sex, and had really awkward mod-sex arguments because I don't want him to finish standing up because gravity is against us...

For me, I decided I had to start relaxing about it a bit, because it was ruining the mood and making things a real strain. I don't mean to say you aren't relaxed and I know how much you want to make the most of every opportunity. But the swimmers enter the playing field in a very different place to where the saliva is (unless we're doing something very different to other people!), and it'll probably produce lots of nice lubrication for the act itself and for the swimmers to get where they need to go. I can say for definite that I've become pregnant after sex that started with a bit of foreplay down there.

It's so hard, especially if you've been trying a while. I hope this doesn't come across as a "just relax about it" post. I've just been where you are, feeling shit because of sex and weirdness and strain and just wanting to make a bloody baby!! It really helped us when we (I) tried to accept going with the flow as much as possible (while still raising my bum and having a sneaky post-secondary orgasm to help the swimmers along - no idea if any of that works!!)

Thanks so much for your reply Salt. I suppose I am starting to panic. 39, MMC in June and now wondering if it will ever happen again!

I don't want it to be all about the baby making because then it's all just quite boring. Nor do I want him to feel bad or feel like he has to perform to order and only on the green days!
