Faint line or evaporation line

Hi all, v new to this forum. My OH and I haven’t been actively trying and been using pill (I had a tummy bug about 3 weeks ago). Had weird stitch in both hips, metallic taste in mouth and now I’m 5 days late. Just tested and it’s come up with faint positive ? Does this mean I’m pregnant or is this just a evaporation line ? Help !

That is not faint at all, that’s a strong positive!

Really ? I’m so new to this and more than a little terrified. I have had two fairly early miscarriages so part of me doesn’t want to believe it and get hopes up

Thank you ladies ! I always thought that the line had to be as strong as the control or it might be a false positive !

That's with ovulation tests. With pregnancy tests, any line is a positive and a false positive is vanishingly rare.

Went to doctors today ... the rest came up v faint positive . Doctor said given my past history of miscarriages I need to come back in a week or so to see if test is still as weak (if it is have blood tests) but hopefully it will be stronger after a week.. she said to watch out for bleeding.. and come back regardless.

Feeling v anxious, realise some women have had it 10x worse trying to conceive .. and this wasn’t planned but this has thrown me a bit (as got my hopes up a little bit) Cross your fingers for me

Smiley, I’ve also had multiple miscarriages (5) but my GP never said something like that to me. If you’re worried you could push for earlier blood tests - you’d need to have two sets a few days apart to check if your HCG levels are rising.

The strength of a line means nothing so not sure why a doctor would say that ? They normally give you the blood test right away
