blood in CM

I am TTC a second child. AF is now about 3 weeks late but all pregnancy tests have been negative. However I've had unusual bleeding - blood in CM, pinkish discharge and strands of blood in CM too. Has anyone had this? Saw my GP on Friday and just feel totally dismissed, he said the blood in discharge was nothing to be concerned about and essentially I was "just" late. Has anyone experienced anything like this??

Hi Sweatpea, have you been long off contraception? I have heard some people spot when the ovulate, could it be that?

I have irregular cycles and do sometimes have bleeding pre ovulation (in my longer cycles) and was told it was most likely just hormonal imbalance. My GP did however test for infections, check my cervix and refer me for an ultrasound to check for cysts / polyps just to be sure so it does sound like your GP is not being very thorough!

Thanks so much for replying Bonnie. That is really helpful to know there are tests that can be done, maybe I should have been more insistent.

I've had blood in CM / pink discharge on and off for almost 3 weeks now and no AF, just dull cramp type pains, and a whole host of negative test results! Came off the pill in January so I don't think it's that.

I know from a GPs perspective it's not that important but when you're TTC it can feel like you're whole world.

Maybe I will go in again and ask to see a different GP!

Hi Sweetpea, Honestly to me it sounds like a good sign, i've heard that it's possible to have slight blood in discharge during implantation!!
However my body is throwing me a curve ball today also lol. Just had Pink tinged EWCM , checked my cm and my cm is creamy white lotiony.... absolutely confused lol.

Hi @sweatpea, yes don't me fobbed off if it carries on as I was told mid cycle bleeding should be checked out. It is most likely just hormones a bit out of whack especially if your period is late but you'll feel better if it's been looked into and infection etc ruled out. It could as Littlemissvictoria says even be implantation so fingers crossed!

If it makes you feel any better I had 3 weeks of spotting this cycle which started about 2 weeks after my period. I then ovulated about a week after the bleeding eventually finished and got my bfp last week! So hopefully it won't prevent conception for you either 😊
