This is the OPK I've just done and my third day in a row. According to my app, I will ovulate tomorrow but it doesn't look like I will. Should I be worried? The only symptoms I have are sore boobs and creamy CM.

So, this is another negative OPK... :-(

Hi, I completely feel your frustration. I ttc for 4 years before I got my miracle, but it took Clomid to finally get me to ovulate. Typically, your cm would need to be like raw egg whites to signify that you were ovulating. Creamy cm could mean it’s on the way in the next few days though. Fingers crossed for you.

Thank you, I hope so.

Hello VJONES - I remember you from last time around!

What is the app's prediction based on? BBT, previous cycles? If you've just started ttc again and it's just based on the average 28 day cycle, it might not have a lot of meaning for you. Since ttc #2 my first cycle was 26 days, then settled down to 29-31 days. This month (cycle 12 - zzzz) looks like being 40 days! Keep on going with the opk- hopefully it will turn positive soon!

VJONES1985 · 20/09/2017 18:31

God, you remember me? I don't know if that's good or bad 😂 Yes, I'm charting for a few months and will be TTC from December!

Yes, it's just based on my last three cycles at the moment- 27 days, 30 days, 27 days respectively. I only started charted BBT a week ago. What do you mean when you say it may not mean much to me at the moment? What are you using to work out when you will ovulate?

It's nice to see familiar faces! I was WestCountryLondonGirl but didn't post much, so you probably don't remember me.

Well if you've been inputting data for the last few months the app will be a bit more accurate (and won't assume 28 cycle), but your cycles still could be a bit variable, so, as I said, keep on going! I thought I'd settled into fairly regular cycles, as they've been between 29 and 31 days since February, but then this month, on cd25 just as I was thinking either I'd missed ov or was in for an annovulatory cycle I got a positive opk! Damn bodies!

Good luck x

I've mostly been using opks, but for the past couple of days have tried temping again to try and get a handle on what's happening this cycle 😂

VJONES1985 · 20/09/2017 19:21

I have hyperthyroidism and I know it can affect fertility sometimes so I think I'm unnecessarily freaking out. It's well controlled with medication and my thyroid levels are normal now but I worry all the same.

Oh, wow, really? Ditto. I'm currently on 25mg levothyroxine, and this month aside, my cycles have been much more regular this time around than before I was diagnosed whilst ttc dd, so I'm hopeful it's not the hypothyroidism having an impact.

VJONES1985 · 20/09/2017 19:44

I'm on 100mg of propythyrcail a day. My periods disappeared for 18 months because of the hyperthyroidism but they returned once I started my meds and my cycle has been between 27 and 30 days since then.

Mine is hyperthyroidism, not hypo

Ah, sorry, misread. I think both can have a similar impact on ttc. Before I was diagnosed I don't think I was ovulating, and then had a crazy 4.5 month cycle. I started the meds, they got a lot more regular, finally started getting +opks, and was pregnant within 6 months. That's why it's a bit gutting that this time round, with more sensible cycles, clear signs of ovulation etc. and I'm still 12 bloody months in!

VJONES1985 · 20/09/2017 22:14

I don't even know if I'm having clear signs of ovulation yet. My cycles are fairly regular, I get sore boobs, cramps, creamy or egg white CM and feel hot all around the right time, but this is my first month of charting BBT and OPK, and I guess they're the best signs of ovulation.

Had a spike in temp this morning, woo. Hope it's a good sign, despite the negative OPK yesterday. CM seems slippery and like lube but not like egg white, but I think that's still a good thing?

VJONES1985 · 23/09/2017 10:33

I'd say I ovulate yesterday 😂 One day later than predicted on my app but it doesn't matter.

So, this is another negative OPK... :-(
