just wondering if anyone has ever experienced a false positive pregnancy test and turned out to be not pregnant?

Yep ✋🏻 I had a false positive about 2 weeks ago, deffinately or pregnant. I'm assuming U have done a test hence the question? X

4thtime · 15/09/2017 13:04

Definitely not pregnant that should say

Alorralorralaughs1 · 15/09/2017 19:41

I used to always get told a false positive was highly unlikely.
*4th was it a dodgy test or was there another reason you got a false positive?

4thtime · 15/09/2017 19:54

I honestly don't know but it was a digital, I'd stick to first response as in my opinion and most other people these are the most reliable x

4thtime · 15/09/2017 19:55

Don't think it was a dodgy test though x

NoWordForFluffy · 15/09/2017 21:28

It's more likely to be a chemical pregnancy than a false positive.

Hotpinkangel19 · 15/09/2017 21:57

Yep. Stupid Lloyds test!!!!!

4thtime · 16/09/2017 07:33

Mine wasn't a chemical pregnancy, no bleeding or cramping or anything like that

NoWordForFluffy · 16/09/2017 09:16

So you've not had a period since? If you've not had a period are you sure you aren't actually pregnant? Without a period how are you sure you're not?

4thtime · 16/09/2017 09:32

I was on the injection, last one was Feb periods not regular, deffinately not pregnant

4thtime · 16/09/2017 09:33

And I'm sure I'm not as I've done at least 10 other tests since plus one at the local sure start clinic

NoWordForFluffy · 16/09/2017 12:10

What did the manufacturer say? False positives are astonishingly rare, so they'd definitely be interested! How baffling for you.

The reason i ask is i'm in abit of a limbo myself at the moment... AF not due for another 8 days, currently getting positives 1-2 weeks on cb digitals & positives on frer, very faint squinty positives on internet cheapys, yet have been to drs and put samples in this week, first sample which i put in after my hpt was negitive with fmu, got asked to put another sample in the next day and waiting on results from them hopefully on monday. retested today and still getting positives. So atm im not sure what to think because surly the Drs sample should have also came back positiveHmm
Also didnt think hpt would pick up a positive that far from Af due date.

4thtime · 17/09/2017 07:27

If ur getting positives on all of the hpt then I would deffinately say you are pregnant, see what the results are on Monday and go from there x

Alorralorralaughs1 How u getting on? X

Alorralorralaughs1 · 19/09/2017 18:20

hi 4th thanks for checking back Smile still no further forward tbh.. phoned gp for the 3rd set of urine results yesterday ...again came back negative, mentioned to the receptionist i was baffled as im still getting positives at home, got a phone call an hour later from drs, Dr requested i put yet another sample in for this morning, so will hopefully hear back by thursday about them. (did a dip test myself today, faint positive line but a line all the same) frer & clear blue digital still positives sunday night.

Im preparing myself to be told negative again, & still thinking possible chemical? Hmm

5 days until AF arrives, so hoping i either get a BFP by then or AF actually arrives to put me out of my misery. x
