Late period, tests showing negative

I guess the subject says it all. My period is late by 7 days and I tried pregnancy tests but both have come up negative (not even a faint line).

I've been off depo shots for nearly 2 years and have had periods for the last six months or so.they have been quite normal, but usually 2 days after I would expect them?

Is it worth trying a test again? I have been quite stressed so maybe that accounts for the late period

I have had no cramping or other normal symptoms apart from my breasts being sore and feeling bigger

Thanks

Stress can delay ovulation which would, in turn, cause a late period. By a week late, 95% plus would have a positive test result.
