late period misery

hi, was due on saturday and have been cramping since last wednesday still no bloody sign of the thing. have done tests all bfn but part of me is still torturing myself with faint hope.

bloody nightmare isn't it?
sorry not much more to offer, your hormones make it the only thing you can think about, whether you are pg or not! its happened to me a few times, my "sensible" head says wait until longer than you longest ever cycle, then test. my "mad/hormonal" head says test every other day til af or bfp !!
try not to spend too much on testing......and maybe better to be pessemistic and not think too much into your symptoms, then you can have a nice surprise if its a bfp!!

I'm in the same boat. I'm WORSE as I was only due mon/tues and tested monday morning and got -ve. Someone on april thread said to test 48 hours after. It's not knowing one way or the other isn't it. If there was such a thing as a conclusive -ve you could just get on with it and start again next month. Plus a beer or a glass of vino.

Hello everyone! Just wanted to say that I know how u feel. I'm late too, was due on the 20th March but still testing negatives. My period was 50 days late b4 and then I had a period. I went to the doctors but they said everything was fine. Good luck and all the best to everyone! Love Gem.xXx

I have been torturing myself like this for months now ttc3. i can be a week late,sometimes more then you can guarantee as soon as i do a pg test i come on!

its funny though,i only ever have late/irregular periods when ttc,its obviously a psychological thing.

Oh, I really sympathise with you ladies going through this. I found exactly the same Ash - doing a pregnancy test, even if I was nigh on 2 weeks late, was the surest way for me to come on.

I did fall pg in the end though, against all the odds. Now my periods have started again and, lo and behold the same thing is happening and there is NO WAY I can be pg. So I guess it might not be just psychological. If the problem is frequent maybe get it checked out - could be hormonal?

period did come on thursday. VVVV upset. only been late twice in the 18 ms i have been ttc. thanks for all the advice and support.

hi girls, im not pg, i had my dd almost 4 years ago now, but the sadness i felt after each month is stilll very fresh when ttc, i was very strressed about it, not thinking of anything else and flipping when aunty flow arrived, so i know how hard it is for you.
we had so many probs where we lived combined with my blinkered mindset about becoming pg, that we decided to move houe, yet drastic action if you like were you live..but although that whole process didnt ease stress, once we'd moved and i had spent months thinking about the move, we got into new houe in June and i fell pregnant in July.
the docs said that when you are stressed, your body(tubes) tighten and tense and make if difficult for you body to do its work.
i know you 'cant' think ofmuch else, but it did help me having something else to concentrate on.good luck all of you.x
