Hi all this is my first time posting and I need some advice about false positives. I took an Asda pregnancy test and it came back positive, took a first response 3 days later for it to be negative? I've attached the photo of the Asda test, if anyone can help that would be great

No advice but I don't think a digi can be wrong. I'd wait a few days and test again with another first response x

Thank you, got an appointment at sure start tomorrow for them to do a test so will see how that goes, I didn't think you could get false positives but I may be wrong x

I don't know how but I got two false positives with digital pregnancy tests on two different cycles! One was clear blue digital and another was a Sainsbury's digital. I definitely wasn't pregnant either! So false positives can happen. You might be pregnant though so try again tomorrow and If it's saying negative then you probably are not pregnant.

Hope you find out soon! X

It could be a chemical pregnancy

4thtime · 07/09/2017 12:20

Sorry for being dumb but what's a chemical pregnancy? X

Hi 4thtime - a chemical is when the egg fertilises on its way down the tube, but doesn't attach to the uterus... so it just keeps going.

I've had one of these. They are quite common. Wait and see and good luck

Thank you, resigned myself to the fact I'm not pregnant now after spending all day on google 🙈 Thanks for the replays though guys xx

I'm sure I've read about the Asda digitals giving out false positives online.

Hopefully you get the answer you want OP

4thtime · 07/09/2017 14:24

Yeah after googling (a lot!) I've read that too, so yeah definitely not pregnant, and don't know what I want now, wasn't tying so had to get my hard round it, now I feel kinda disappointed x

I would never use a digital either now after two false ones. The only tests I trust are the first response ones! They have always been accurate for me :)

4thtime · 08/09/2017 15:27

Yeah I will be sticking to those in the future, only got this as they had no others, lesson learned! X
