Ho3 many months have you been ttc and how long did it take you to get a bfp on any previous pregnancy?

I'm approaching cycle 8 looking for hope

I conceived my first dc after 1 month, 2nd child after 12 months, 3rd after 13 months and 4th after 1 month, so my experiences are very mixed. There's still hope after 8 months, I hope you get your bfp soon.

Metalhead · 07/09/2017 11:19

Cycle 2 with DD1, cycle 4 (mmc) then cycle 11 with DD2. Good luck!

PrimeraVez · 07/09/2017 12:51

cycle 8 with DS, cycle 1 (CP) and cycle 2 (MC) now on to cycle 4 this time around...

TurquoiseDress · 07/09/2017 13:04

First pregnancy aged 34- had come off the pill & had withdrawal bleed, pregnant straight away before first real period following one episode of unprotected sex.

Second pregnancy last year aged 37- exactly the same scenario, came of pill & pregnant before first period.
Unfortunately ended in MMC at 12+6 at dating scan.

TTC ever since getting negative pregnancy test- so 14 months TTC so far. I also turned 39 the other month so I am very concerned now! Confused

MrsBartlettforthewin · 08/09/2017 19:28

Please have hope 8 cycles isn't to many. With DC1 we were trying for two years before I got pregnant without any medical help. Had been diagnosed with pocs and the week before I was meant to see specialist I found out I was pregnant.

With DC2 took 12 months then DC3 we just weren't being careful and I got pregnant before my periods came back after stopping feeding DC2.

leighdinglady · 08/09/2017 19:32

1st - cycle 18 - hugely worried. Lots of tests etc

2nd - cycle 1!!!

Ecureuil · 08/09/2017 19:33

First pregnancy 13 months.
Second pregnancy... on the pill, still breastfeeding day and night and only had sex once that month!

WelshMammy123 · 08/09/2017 20:50

I'm not sure I can quite add up the months ttc #1 as it took us over 3 years. When we started ttc #2 it took one month but MMC and then 3 months and tfmr. It's now been 11 months and no hint of a BFP. I'm convinced there is no rhyme or reason!

m33r · 09/09/2017 06:15

DS 1 20 months (all tests and a laparoscopy and nothing 'wrong', just took a while). Cycle 4 MC; cycle 5 CP; cycle 1 MC; DS 2 cycle 4.

No rhyme nor reason and a bit a journey to get my two boys. Totally worth it but glad I'm not planning any more!

Good luck x

Eminybob · 09/09/2017 07:14

I first got pregnant after 3 months. Unfortunately that ended in a MMC, and we then went on to have DS after another 6 months.
We are currently ttc no 2 and am on cycle 13. Hoping it's lucky for me, I'm currently in the 2ww.

Mamabooksbabynumber2 · 09/09/2017 08:13

Thank you everyone. It's really helped put it into perspective.

DD1: 20 months and needed fertility drugs. Aged 36.

DD2: 2-3 months naturally. Aged 38.

Oldschool41 · 09/09/2017 08:39

Keep the faith... I had the coil removed and went onto the mini pill. Took that for two months then came off it and fell the month after and I'm 41 so it does happen 😀

Oysterbabe · 09/09/2017 09:20
  1. Cycle 5

Bubblegum89 · 09/09/2017 15:10

1- after taking antibiotics for a UTI whilst on the pill so pretty much a couple of weeks

2- after one missed pill

I'm now ttc and have been since December 2016 so on my 10th cycle

Beansprout30 · 09/09/2017 15:40

16 cycles for first, got pregnant naturally but I was so stressed I'm sure it didn't help, now on cycle one ttc #2

ShuttyTown · 09/09/2017 15:42

DS - 2 and a half years. DD - 2 years

AccrualIntentions · 09/09/2017 15:42

2 and a half years, including 7 cycles on Clomid.

ForeverHopeful21 · 09/09/2017 17:47

First pregnancy - 2.5 years!
Second pregnancy - 1 month!

Crumbelina · 09/09/2017 18:29

Does anyone know why it can be so difficult to concieve your first and then the second happens so quickly (as in my case and Forever Hopeful's)? I must remember to find out sometime. Big caveat that it isn't the case for everyone but it's happened to so many people I know.

Beansprout30 · 09/09/2017 19:16

I had acupuncture first time round Crumbelina and my acupuncturist said usually once youve had one pregnancy, the body just knows what to do. But then that's not always true for some people

twinklestar2 · 09/09/2017 22:24

2.5 years and IVF for baby number 1.

Still TTC # 2, 1 year in and a failed ivf cycle Sad

ForeverHopeful21 · 10/09/2017 10:55

@Crumbelina I have endometriosis and ovarian cysts which impact my fertility / ovulation.
I also made some conscious changes in the run up to pregnancy number 2 which may have impacted?

Crumbelina · 10/09/2017 13:01

My older sister has endometriosis and it took the best part of 8 years and 4 cycles of IVF for her to get pregnant. Thankfully she had twin girls!

I have PCOS and it took cycles of Clomid and then Tamoxifen for my first BFP. Pretty easy in comparison!

I didn't make any lifestyle changes for my second BFP. I'd only recently stopped breastfeeding but I guess I was more healthy and barely drank. What probably clinched it was paying to see a private specialist and begging for fertility drugs (I was waiting for my next cycle to come so I could start the drugs but it never arrived and a BFP did!).

Twinkle Flowers wishing you lots of luck. It must be so difficult.

Beansprout, that's what I've heard too but it's such a mystery how your body can (sometimes) work things out ... Confused

PotteringAlong · 10/09/2017 13:02
  1. 2 months
  2. 17 months
  3. 6 months
