AM I PREGNANT?

If I'm pregnant I'd be nearly 8 weeks, as I'm due on in the next couple of days. I've had a period though, but a very light one and I also had a lot of cramping during ovulation and a slight spotting. I've been feeling sick, my breasts have become sore and grown, my bras dont fit, my nipples are sore, and I have put on a little weight, well 9lbs! I've done a few pregnancy tests I've even bought a pack of early 10mlU pregnancy tests and they've been negative! I've done around 7 in the last 6 weeks and one had a very faint line but the rest were negative. I've been experiencing dizziness, sickness and earache etc because of an undiagnosed inner ear/ sinus problem.. but the last few weeks even on anti sickness my sickness has been horrendous! Is there any chance I could be pregnant?

If you were 8 weeks pregnant you would have a clear positive test by now, so I would say it is highly unlikely you are. What you are experiencing is what most women experience every month. All totally normal, and you just are more sensitive to it all if you are symptom checking. Your light period could be down to not ovulating at all that cycle. Again, perfectly normal as a one off.

Thank you delilahbucket, I have been tracking my cycle for around 5 months now, and I haven't experienced this before. Although obviously with the negative tests as you say it is highly unlikely. But is there any chance at all? Is there any difference between home pregnancy tests and a blood test for checking for pregnancy?

I don't want to worry you but any one sided pain such as burning or stabbing go to GP. My friends ectopic never gave positive results excrpt one faint early on.

Its rare to get faint positives so other possobility is a chemical pregnancy?

Hope your body gives you answers soon and its just a hormonal flux your experiencing.

Charjell · 02/09/2017 21:09

My fiancé mentioned extopic pregnancy when I was experiencing the pains as it was sharp pains in the left side and some of them had me curled up. Although, I sort of dismissed it when the pains stopped.. and they wasn't just one sided, they were also like stabbing very low in my abdomen, just above my vagina.. (sorry for tmi)
But I really do hope not. I think maybe going to the doctor will be a good idea to see what they think may be going on.. thank you loosemoose28

I did another test today. This outcome is similar to the one I had a few weeks ago which was faint. Is this a positive?

Yes that's a pretty clear positive.

Stormcloud10 · 03/09/2017 16:01

That's a strong positive

I think you need to see your doctor ASAP as you could be further along or experiencing a multiple pregnancy. Especially with that kind of weight gain which I wouldn't expect for quite a while. You're pregnant though, no doubting that test. Congratulations.

Charjell · 03/09/2017 18:44

Oh is it, I thought it was very faint. I am going to take another first thing in the morning too. I have checked and the antisickness aren't reccomended to be taken during pregnancy. So I will stop taking them now and will have to get in touch with my GP this week. Thank you all very much x

There's no need to do an other first thing in the morning, fmu applies when you have just missed your period, at 8 weeks a test at any time of day is suitable. That's a clear positive.

DirtyChaiLatte · 04/09/2017 16:57

That's a definite positive line but too faint for 8 weeks. So either your dates are off and you're not as far along as 8 weeks or there's something wrong and your hCG isn't rising like it should.

You really need to get to your GP and be very clear about the pain you mentioned as it's one of the indicators of an ectopic pregnancy which can be dangerous if not treated in time and your tube ruptures.

I'm currently 8 and half weeks and my line looks like yours and I've been told that my hcg levels are too low and erratic and I'm being treated this week for pregnancy on unknown location and possible ectopic pregnancy.

Hope you have better news.

Is it possible you had a chemical pregnancy, a light period and then got pregnant again?

Loosemoose28 · 05/09/2017 21:48

Any news? Been thinking of you today OP X

Charjell · 06/09/2017 07:51

I haven't actually been able to get in at the doctors, I'm going to ring up again at 8am this morning, if I don't get an appointment, I have booked an appointment to go the clinic tomorrow. Hopefully all is well, I will let you know what I find out asap! And thank you x
