Feeling defeated TTC

I came off my pill last September with plans to TTC in January 17 - my cycles initially looked like they were normalizing but I did notice my skin going a little spotty and then in January my periods just stopped. I went to the doctor and he said it was all to do with just coming off the pill, kick started my periods and prescribed 100mg of clomid in February. We conceived - couldn't believe it - roll forward to my 11 week scan and further tests only to be told I had suffered a silent miscarriage at 7 weeks and went through the awful process of inducing miscarriage (took a few attempts with cytotec). Roll forward 7 more weeks, my period arrives and I go back to the doctor for next round of 100g clomid, he casually mentions I have PCOS but not to worry. Two weeks later he tells me the clomid hasn't worked, wait for next cycle and without doing any blood tests he prescribes metaformin 1000mg per day. I felt uncomfortable with his diagnosis so went to a specialist and she did blood tests which showed I was not insulin resistant and aside from the irregular periods and slightly PCOS looking ovaries, the only other PCOS symptom was elevated LH:FSH ratio. She also didn't think the cycle was over, she monitored follicle growth and gave a triggershot a few days later - that resulted in BFN. Next cycle she prescribed 50g clomid, monitored growth and did triggershot and prescribed progesterone suppositories until next pregnancy test - which is tomorrow. Gut feeling is this is a BFN as I've had AF like cramps since DPO 11. Sorry for the big rant, I just feel so tired of the bad news and set backs and no one has been able to tell me how to reduce my LH hormone. I recently tried acupuncture but really not convinced. If anyone has any advice or positive stories it would be greatly appreciated as I'm dreading the result tomorrow :(

I don't really have any advice but I didn't want to read and run.
I really hope you get your bfp tomorrow. Do you have to do an early morning test? I've just come off my pill 5 weeks and impatiently waiting for my first period

LadyPCOS · 31/08/2017 21:04

Hey armygirl, thanks for the message - Yes I've to go before work and wait for the results in the afternoon. It seems like a lot of waiting around! Good luck with coming off the pill, I'm sure your cycles will normalise quickly!

Good luck for tomorrow , hope you get your bfp. Sorry don't have anything helpful to add

Armygirl · 31/08/2017 21:15

Oh so you don't do a home pregnancy test? They take your blood?

MouseLove · 31/08/2017 22:20

I didn't want to read and run but wanted to say good luck. You are very lucky that you've had so many tests and help from your GP with under a year of TTC. That's very rare. I can only assume you're not in the uk? Anywho... good luck and I hope it happens for you soon. I've been TTC a year and will be seeing my gp soon about my short cycles. We had a mmc in feb at 10 weeks but nothing since. X

physicskate · 31/08/2017 22:26

Agreed with mouse love. Clearly you are in need of the help!

Mouse love, some gps wouldn't test you until a year after the mc. I've had two chemicals and been ttc for about a year and a half. My gp still doesn't give a shot and won't run tests!

Luckily, I was somehow able to self refer to an NHS fertility clinic?? It's been a few months but appointment number two coming up soon! Expecting some test results!

@purpleviolet1 thank you. I did a clear blue digital this morning and it was negative but on route for the blood test to confirm.

@Armygirl yes it's a blood test as the doctor said this would be the quickest way to know for sure so I can come off the progesterone supps and allow AF to come

@MouseLove yes I'm a British expat with private healthcare - which I am truly grateful for - but as I'm 35, one miscarriage down and recently diagnosed with lean PCOS I got to start seeing a specialist. The gyno before was throwing meds at me without trying to figure out my problem (which may have prevented the miscarriage, although we'll never know)

Sorry to hear all this OP. Sounds stressful and disheartening. You sound lovely, I hope you get your BFP soon.

LadyPCOS · 01/09/2017 16:53

Blood test confirmed negative today - back at the docs Monday to decide our next approach. Thanks for the lovely messages - glad I joined this site :)

Ah sorry for the bad news OP. Don't give up hope. I'll keep my fingers crossed for good news for you soon.

Kate, yes that's true, however I have other medical issues so when I'm ready my GP is eager to start the ball rolling. My issue at the moment is short 25 day cycles with a late ovulation. I'm keeping all my fingers crossed AF doesn't show this weekend but I've been cramping all week and I'm not sure. It's my due date on Monday too. So double whammy.
