Faint line on a pregnancy test 15mins later what does this mean?

Hi
I don't know if I am going crazy but I have done three pregnancy tests over the last three days and after 15mins it showed a faint line what does this mean? I got my friend to use the same test and leave it for the same amount of time and she got nothing? Picture below mine is on the left side, I have done this three times and it's done the same thing, I did a clear blue test and it did the same but after 30mins, so now I don't know if I am just being crazy.
I am recovering from hypothalamic amenorrhea I had my first period in 9 months back in June but nothing since around two weeks ago I felt I might be ovulating but due to not knowing my cycle and being so irregular I have no idea when my period would be due so I have no idea when to test.
I currently have no symptoms which makes me think it's nothing but why have three tests showed the same and my friend got nothing?.
Anyone that could help would be greatly appreciated.

I can see lines on all of them, but it does really need to be in the time window. Although I agree the test comparison you did with your friend was weird.

Not sure what others think but whenever I've done a neg test nothing has ever come up outside of the time frame, not to say that it wouldn't, but wouldn't it be unusual for it to happen every time?

Definitely do a first morning test tomorrow with first response.

I can see the lines. My 20 week old, currently shouting for her feed, was as faint as these. Hope it is good news for you.

Helen290 · 01/09/2017 10:37

I hope so or I have just gone crazy lol

Still getting tiny bits of brown discharge , I think I am just doubtful it is as it feels like we have beer. Trying for so long and not having a period for 9 months then having a period then nothing just would be nice to have some good news lol

Helen - firstly I will say congratulations! I have had many pregnancies (3 kids, 12 miscarriages) and from my fanatic early testing, I would get a very faint, don't know if it is there, that would appear as an evaporation line after the test is dry, day later might not be able to see it, day later line appears after 20 mins, day later it was still taking 15 mins, it would finally after a few days appear within the 10 min timeframe. Gradually over the next few days it would appear quicker and then start getting darker eventually.

The dye level and the concentration of your urine varies from day to day, so you have to judge darkness of the line about two days apart not from day to day.

As for brown spotting, that is considered normal, sometimes referred to as implantation bleeding.

I really hope that this is it for you and that you have the start of an exciting new journey.

@willitbe thank you for your message :-).
The only weird thing is I have done tests since Wednesday first one took 20mins faint line, then the second Thursday morning faint line after about 15 mins then in the afternoon the same day ( I was being a bit crazy lol ) again faint line same amount of time , however the next day it looked slightly lighter then the first day then I did another two today on the same test and a first response one and a very faint line you could hardly see it again fainter then the first one difference is one took 12mins and this last one 3mins.
And since last night brown discharge still having it now.
I just find it odd the line is getting lighter rather then darker this is over 3 days, what do you think?

Helen all look positive to me! Like pp say urine concentration varies so don't worry. Spotting is v normal in early pregnancy. As cervix closes up old blood will leave your body - the brown discharge is old blood so nothing to be concerned about. When I was pregnant I even had red bleeding at 13 weeks but all was fine! It's quite normal. They never tell you that tho do they! Good luck really hope it sticks for you. We are on cycle 7 ttc #2 and am also in the 'it will never happen' mentality atm

ThatsWotSheSaid · 01/09/2017 20:27

I had the same when I had DS. Fingers crossed!

Helen290 · 01/09/2017 20:42

Thank you it just seems to be getting heavier brown discharge just can't help but worry.

Helen - try not to worry, take one day at a time. The mantra you need is "today I am pregnant", try not to fear the next bit, just try to focus on the fact that right now you are pregnant.

Regarding tests not getting darker - never fear, the dye levels can vary greatly even when using the same make of test, and concentration of urine varies greatly too. I found that I had a stronger line with second rather than first morning urine...... time of day, how much liquid you have drunk all make a difference. Don't try to limit drinks in order to get stronger urine. Please be reassured that the tests turning positive quicker is a very positive (pun intended!) sign. You could have quite a few more days before a first scan can be done, so try to take it one day at a time.

Regarding the old blood, try not to worry about it (easier said than done I know), but it is quite normal in some women to have "breakthrough" bleeding at around the time that their period would have been due too. I know that this is a bit different from your situation, but a small amount of bleeding is considered within normal in early pregnancy. Your cervix is very sensitive right now and can bleed easily. I had bleeding in my successful pregnancies, it does not mean it is a bad sign.

Please remember - today you are pregnant & do try to enjoy it if you can.

Hey update for everyone this morning I came on a full blown period 😒 and I did a pregnancy test same one as before first wee and completely negative no faint line so I think there was something but obviously didn't take 😔, I guess the only thing I can take from this is that my last cycle was 63 days so at least I'm having another period and hopefully want be as long this time also if I was pregnant I at least know I am ovulating.
Just can't help but be disappointed, thank you everyone for your advice I appreciate it. Xxx
