Normal after coming off the pill?? (TMI?)

So after my last period I decided not to go back onto the pill as me and my fiancé have decided to start trying. My period ended and after a couple of days I had another short bleed for a few days, and then nothing until I came on my period exactly when I was meant to.

While I was on the pill my periods would come like clockwork and last 5 days. This time the first 5 days were the usual sort of bleed that I would have, however it dragged out a bit longer to about 7 days. Since then I have still had a sort of bleed every day, however it is a lot different in consistency (light, stringy), and is always brown.

I am now on day 10 and I’m going crazy! I know coming off the pill can alter your cycle but I can’t tell if what’s going on down there is part of my period or not and if I should book an appointment to see my GP or not Confused

I’m also taking Pregnacare Conception tablets and have heard that this can legnethen your cycle slightly but honestly have no clue Grin

Any advice would be much appreciated Smile

(Ps I’m brand new so please be nice Smile )

Brown = old blood so you're probably just having a good clear out.

It can take up to a year for cycles to return to 'normalcy'. For most people, it will take less time, but honestly, don't think too deeply about it for a few cycles at least.

Your GP will make you feel like an idiot for going to them (not because you are an idiot, or even weird for being freaked out by changes in hormones, but because most don't seem to know enough or care about this sort of thing and will just tell you to let it sort itself out). Unless it lasts more than a month solid, I wouldn't bother my GP... and even then I would expect them to be really dismissive for previously stated reasons - but I have a really shit GP, detailed elsewhere).

The stringy stuff could be ewcm which might be an indication that you're gearing up to ov.
