Hi all, is anyone dieting while ttc? I want to eat healthy but find things like nuts, avocado, flax, no sweeteners etc not great for losing weight. Is 1200 calories a day ok to go on? I was doing the 5:2 diet and since I've been off it, the weights creeping back on. Just need to lose about 8-10 pounds. Any suggestions?

I'm doing Slimming World. I've lost just over a stone but have another 2 to target. I figure SW is pretty healthy as your mw can refer you to follow while pregnant.

I find SW so hard!! 😥argh been on it before but dc have allergies, don't like spice, so I found cooking for me and dh separately tough and we all eat together... Need to have a look for recipes that are quick....Easy... I'm a teacher and school starts soon so I'm going to be constantly on the go. 😳

According to the My Fitness Pal app, 1200 is the absolute minimum it will allow you each day. Double check with your midwife, but I don't think you need extra calories until the last trimester as long as you're eating healthily

I'm ttc and need to lose about 8-10 lbs. I'm following slimming world because it's mainly healthy eating plus when you get pregnant you can tell your leader and they'll give you advice. There's a few pregnant women in our group. They just want to make sure they don't gain too much weight while pregnant. There's no need to eat for two, as long as your not starving yourself

Ah just seen you're TTC, should pay more attention! The app is really good, might be worth a try and it's free to download

Losing weight positively helps TTC, so go for it!

I'm going back to SW this week as I need to lose weight and if I do get pregnant then I can stay on the plan. Plus I need the support!

I think it's way too little as it's impossible to get all your nutrients if you're restricting so much. Not to mention that it could give you problems with your cycles and ttc.
Perhaps it's be better to stick to a healthy diet - that will always get your weight in the healthy weight.
