Hi - this is my first contact. Is this a useful site?

Hi All - Warm fuzzies coming my way - thank you. I can feel the support and it's great. I am a Mum having been on a roller coaster ride, but it wasn't as long as some of the other ladies on this site. Have a son who is 19 week's old. I was told just over a year ago that I was infertile and my hubby and I were in shock and grieving. Hubby got straight onto the internet and within weeks we were on an IVF course - it worked first time - amazing - even more so as I'm in my late 30's. Absolutely besotted with our boy and I have no intention of going back to work for his formative years.

As for the name (not from a different planet) - odd choice, but remember the Flumps? (showing age now) - well it's a play on one of my favourite shows from childhood. Never grew up!

I loved the Flumps. Had completely forgotten about them till I read this

foxinsocks · 15/07/2004 21:35

also chorlton and the wheelies from about the same time (which I always found a bit surreal). OK I MUST stop now flumpette....welcome anyway!

Hi Flumpette. We all think so!

lostinparis · 17/07/2004 16:40

This is the most fabulous site I have found since ttc + the other conversations are really interesting/useful too.....

poppyseed · 17/07/2004 17:03

Been able to help (I think!!) loads of people in exactly the same situation as me, and have received help on a variety of different things. I am relatively new and am addicted....

BeckiF · 17/07/2004 17:47

Definitely! You can find answers and help on even the most bizarre of things! Don't be afraid or emabarassed to ask about anything, no matter how weird you think it is! Welcome on board! Are you trying to conceive (ttc) or a Mum alread?

Angeliz · 17/07/2004 18:04

Welcome

(Your post makes it sound like you're from another planet)

Flumpette, this is the first and only site I have ever been on to chat. I only discovered it a few months ago, and it's so much help. My first 10 months of ttc with no-one apart from DH to talk to, was a very lonely place. Beckif is right there is no embarassment at all on this site, as graphic or as personal as you like. I know a lot of people have been discussing their DH/DP low sex drive etc, where else could you do that? It's wonderful, and I truely thank all those on here, and welcome to you.

Seabird · 19/07/2004 01:07

I agree! I lurked for several months but now I'm in my 3rd month TTC I need somewhere I can obsess in earnest

lol at your comment Angeliz

malinki · 20/07/2004 12:29

Count me in too, I think that everyone on this site, has either been through or is going through exactly the same as another person and you can actually relate to most things being discussed. Welcome aboard!!!

Angeliz · 20/07/2004 12:38

This thread is all befuddled now!!!!!!

Thomcat · 20/07/2004 12:48
