Pregnant after 2 x MC - Really worried

As the title says had a miscarriage in December and another in May, today got a positive (Clear Blue test).

I am really worried about another MC. Is there anything that I can do to support this pregnancy? I have started with a baby asprin from today, this was recommended last year but didn't prevent MC2.

Background have been trying over 3 years to conceive number 2. Have a healthy nearly 5 year old.

I read in the news and my GP mentioned Niacin/vitamin B3. I am taking supplements containing it (although I have been for years) that contain 100% recommended, can I take more? I read a that a turkey fillet contains 100% also, so should I start eating a lot of turkey and other foods containing it? (I hate marmite).

You're statistically far more likely to have a successful pregnancy than another mc. Only 1% have 3 in a row...

It sounds like you're doing everything you can to support your pregnancy. I would take a bit more b3, though I haven't read about the dosing that will now be recommended after this study.

I have no advice @minky but I've also just got a bfp today after a mc last month.
It's so hard, want to be excited but I'm so scared at the same time. I'll watch this thread as I have no idea if I should be doing anything else to help things along x

So basically I took myself to a&e 22nd June with bleeding they told me everything was fine cause a pregnancy test came back positive and to go home, so I rang my midwife arranged a same day scan found out baby had no heart beat and stopped developing at 8 weeks. Got admitted to hospital 23rd as insane pain and had to go through the labour, was bleeding for 1/2 weeks then stopped done a pregnancy test after leaving hospital (negative) then was in hospital for sprained back 17th July done a preg test then (negative) since miscarriage I've had no bleeding/cramps nothing, however no pregnancy symptoms either so done preg test a week ago (positive) and then 2 clear blues (positive: 1-2 weeks) two days later (positive 2-3 weeks) surely it can't be hormones from the miscarriage? Help? Just scared to get my hopes up and my gp has given me nothing to go on except to say "just wait and see"

No help from us needed. You're pregnant. Congrats!

I honestly think you should wait two weeks and either get the EPU to give you a scan or get a private scan to reassure you. Unfortunately it's probably too early at present to see anything on the scan. There is nothing to be done but to put your feet up and relax. You are statistically more likely to have a successful pregnancy than another miscarriage.

Vit b3!!

Thanks my lovely 💕💕

Minkyfluffster · 14/08/2017 19:30

Bettabye have you had a period since your MC? If not then they will want to do early scanning to date pregnancy, get another GP appointment for maybe a weeks time?

Like you I also had a missed MC, found out at 12 week scan, the shock is awful isn't it? you had a negative test and now this positive one so I would take it that you are. Flowers

We can wait it out together?

I bled for 1/2 weeks when I miscarried and I haven't had nothing since then also when I went to my go he read my notes from the hospital and they said that the product of the miscarriage all came away when they checked
And it's the longest wait! I'm really struggling to keep things together ATM having no supporting friends or family is the worst 💕💕

I had healthy 5yo, followed by 3 x Mc. It was awful, really messed with my head. Then I got bfp and was terrified so my heart goes out to you. I am now sat here feeding gorgeous 3mo ds. Good luck!

Minkyfluffster · 21/08/2017 16:53

Thank you Goose, really nerve wracking.

I had 9 in a row, had my little boy with the help of aspirin, then TTC again, had a further 4 but now 15 weeks pregnant.

Are you under any special care at all?
