Hey guys. I was just wondering, I have two questions.

First one is: I took two pregnancy tests, one on the night I was due on and another one, 2 days later.. both negative. However I still haven't come on and I'm now 14 days late. Could I still be pregnant if I had two negative tests?

Second one is: I started taking birth control again because of the two negative HPT's and I was wondering (depending if the answer to the first question is yes) can birth control harm the baby? I only took 3 and I've stopped now. Haven't taken one for 3 days and still no sign of a period.

Any help would be great!! Thank you x

Hi. I'm a little confused, why did you start taking the birth control again? And was it the pill?

I would say if you took two tests on or after you expected you're period to arrive then it's likely that you're not pregnant.

You can get false negatives if the hormone levels weren't high enough at that point. The contraceptives can mess up your cycle too.

Do you track ovulation?

It's really common to get a really late period every once in awhile. There are millions of threads on the same thing. It probably is because you ovulated later than you normally do or that you didn't ovulate and so this is delaying your period. Starting and then stopping birth control could also delay your period. Have you been stressed or had any changes to your routine? That could delay your period.

Take another test because it will be very definitive by now and then go from there.

Surely if you are back on birth control your period isn't really 14 days late? Because bit would stop you bleeding anyway?
