TMI warning!! Should I be worried about my af?

Pre-pill and pre-DS I had regular normal periods. Not especially heavy. No bad cramps. Came and went in about 4 days.

Since coming off the pill this time to ttc #2 I have the worst periods. Almost incapacitated on cd1. But I am most worried by the fact that I have actual lumps of my insides coming out?! Not blood clots, like lumps of what looks like membranes. Like skin type pieces. Always associated with bad cramping and nearly always on cd1. Should I be worried? It's really disgusting and properly freaking me out! Definitely never had this as a teenager pre-pill and certainly not before I had DS two years ago.

Oh no sorry to hear this. No idea what it can be I would defo book an appointment with the doctors about it though.

You mean like lumps of mucus but red/brown? If so it's just clotting I think?

Definitely get checked out if you're worried though

WetDogLovesHubert · 10/08/2017 19:32

This is my periods, post-DD. It is worth getting it checked out because if you're worried you should, but I have the same. It's disgusting, though using a mooncup has made it less so (no idea why).

MotherofBoy · 10/08/2017 19:32

Definitely not mucus. It's like pieces of tissue Hmm as in thick skin-like (gross) doesn't break when pulled. It's not a fluid. It's what I'd imagine sac that holds a baby to be like if that makes sense. It's happened quite frequently so now wondering if I should see gp cos it doesn't seem normal?!!

wetdog glad I'm not alone! It's horrid tho. Did you get it checked? What is correlation to post-childbirth? I just can't explain it.

I haven't researched it at all @MotherofBoy but I did go to the doctor and discuss it. I ended up at the doctors, who told me it's very common, but I did get a full suite of blood tests to check my iron levels etc. Turns out my vitamin d levels were through the floor, so I'm on supplements now which has resolved my lethargy and mood issues. My period has also improved, though it's only been a couple of months so who knows whether the correlation is true. Do go to your doctor - it's always worth checking out changes like this.
