Would it still be possible to get pregnant 8 days before ovulation?

So we had sex 24th July.....8 days before ovulation

(We were unable to have sex around ovulation due to hubby being away)

Would it still be possible to get pregnant?

If you are certain that's when you ovulated, then no. There would be no egg to fertilise, and by the time there was, the speed would be dead. Sorry.

If you a 100% about your ovulation date then I think 8 days is far too long for sperm to survive. :(

Although sperm can hypothetically live for 5-7 days, the vast majority of it is dead within 2. I would say the chances are virtually zero.
