How long after coming off the depo injection till you conceived? I have been on it 6 months and my boyfriend and I have decided to come off it. :)

Hi, I was on depo 4 years and when i came of, it was nearly two years until I conceived although I wasn't really trying all that time (we used condoms for a while) so I know that's not much help! After the 2 years we got pregnant with twins but sadly had a mmc at 14 weeks, now been ttc since October ish (didn't take it too seriously at the start, more just having fun and seeing what happened) . My cycles have always been a bit irregular even before going on depo so it's hard to say. Were you regular before the injection?? Hope this helps in some way. Good luck!! Smile

It's difficult to say really I guess it's different for everyone! Maybe try keeping track straight away of when AF arrived and for how long so you can tell what your cycle is like. I didn't do that and regretted it because I wasn't too sure of I was just completely irregular or if there was some odd overall pattern that wasn't quite a normal cycle.

Hi. Everyone
I'm new here. I just a bit advice. I started on the pills in 2010 till 2011. Then started on the depo injection since 2011 till 2015. I saw AF each time I'm late in taking my injection or decide to stop. So my husband and I decided I get the implant which I had it for a year and took it in October 2016. In the hope to ttc. But in March this year we decided to hold of as we were planning to get a house so I got depo injection. I was meant to have my second injection on the 3rd July. But we had decided not to have anymore contraceptives. I say AF on the 16th June.(sorry) but husband and I made out during that week. I have a short mentrual cycle of 23days and it can sometimes be late for 1 or 2days. But never long. Since the 16th June. I haven't seen AF. I was meant to see it 9th July but nothing and on the 1st August. It's 29days now. No AF. I'm kinda worried and not sure if I might be pregnant. I have been having back pain for past 3weeks, cramps, white creamy sort of discharge, I had tender nipple for a week. I had done few pregnancy test but all negatives. I remember when I was on depo previously I usually see AF. So I'm a bit unsure what's going on there. Should I continue to do the home test or speak to my doctor. Confused

I came off the depo in Dec 2015 after being on it for 6 years and have been trying to conceive since. I've had irregular periods since and was on for three months solid after I first came off it. They're more regular now but they only started becoming regular a few months ago, although my cycles are short at around 24 to 26 days long. They're also really heavy and I have really bad pains. But I do think I may have endometriosis but haven't been back to gynae yet x

I was on depo for 6 or 7 years. It took me 6 months to have a period! I do wonder if depo and other hormonal contraception has effected me adversely (been on hormonal contraception for 10 years).

While I think contraception has been pretty amazing this century, there definitely needs to be more research into it and how it affects women. Bit of a tangent sorry!

I was on it 5yrs. Came off it December 2016. Had AF in Feb, then nothing until June, nothing in July, AF just finished today. Very unpredictable & we have been TTC since January 2017.
