Flashing smily face after ovulation

I'm on CD 26 and based on OPK kits with two lines and symptoms thought I ovulated 4 days ago. I had some slippery CM today so out of curiosity took a clear blue ovulation test (I only just got them so haven't used them before) and got a flashing smiley face. I'm so confused does this mean I haven't ovulated yet?

are these the 'dual hormone' ones? If so you need to use them according to the instructions or they won't tell you anything.

what cycle day did you start using them?

Not sure, but purely anecdotally- the month I fell pregnant (after a long time trying) was when I used clear blue smiley ones for the first time. I was convinced I had already ovulated - temping, app etc, but they kept flashing smileys so we kept going! Turns out they were right! Good luck.

Technically it's the static smiley that's the "green light" but first couple of months they can be hard to get as the stick gets "used" to your wee.

Ps: please read instructions thoroughly. I am a seasoned ignorer of instructions and was v glad I took time out to read just HOW these sticks work.

Agh this is frustrating! Last week I was using internet cheapies OPK and kept getting an almost positive then it went back to low so I assumed O had taken place. We DTD every day for a week. Then I ordered the CB OPK for next month as I had heard it was clearer.

Had some EWCM today so on a whim tested and got the flashing face. I'm now working away so can't even DTD which is annoying as I thought we had given it a good shot this month! If I haven't even ovulated yet my cycles are getting longer and longer.

Really what I want to know is is it possible to get a flashing smiley after O?

Sorry meant to say- this is only the second CB OPK I've used, I used one the day before yesterday and it was negative.

No because the sticks stay on solid face then you throw them away and use a new one. But it needs to track a baseline throughout your cycle so if you didn't follow the instructions then it won't tell you anything.

My friend thought she was ovulating when her smiley face was showing but she was actually pregnant...
have you a pg test?

You need to start using them on the day it suggests. Usually day 5 or 6 or thereabouts

I haven't taken a pg test but I'm only 4dpo (I think!) and swore to myself I wouldn't test this cycle.

Used clear blue dual and normal, turns out I only got flashing smiles even when I'd ovulated.... then went on to get a static smile at 12 dpo.

Turns out it was a good job we dtd when flashing because that static smile opk was followed by four bfps.

Am not convinced you aren't better just using a decent quality of traditional testing strips than the cbd. Cost me too much money and heartache!

Thank you- I used another clear blue dual hormone this morning and got another flashing smiley face CD27. Then after reading something online I did another of the same tests with tap water - flashing smiley! I'm giving up this month and next month may just ignore OPKs altogether and just DTD as much as possible.
