Ovulating around day 30 in my cycle

Hello, I had my first baby 14 months ago and we are currently trying for our second. I've never really managed to get back in to my old cycle where I ovulated around day 17 (apologies, I'm not too good at the correct lingo).

So, the last few months I have been keeping track and I appear to have my period around 6 weeks after my last period began, ovulation around 30 days in to my 6 week cycle.

I've been using digital sticks, have never managed to get the 'flashing' smiley face, just managed to catch a solid smiley face on day 30.

This week I'm on day 25 and would expect a flashy smiley but none.

Has anyone else had this that managed to fall pregnant, is there anything I can do about my cycle length, any vitamins I can take? I have already been to my gp who tested my hormone levels and they came back normal.

Any advice/experiences are very welcome. X

Hey. Last month I used the cheaper clear blue digital OPKs, the ones where you get a smiley or a blank face. I think they worked just fine. I personally wouldn't worry about not getting a flashing smiley as I feel a smiley on its on is enough. I'm sure if you were to test every hour on the hour at some point it would turn into a flashing smiley face, however that is unrealistic as people have lives to live. Hahaha. I would suggest DTD when you get the smiley but also monitoring the signs from your body such as ewcm and any twinges you may feel. This month I used the really cheap opk sticks and actually much prefer them as I can see the rise and fall of the surge with my own eyes.

Your cycle does seem long but if the doctor has said all is well I wouldn't bother with vitamins (there was a post last week about how it may be affecting cycles).
