Pregnacare Conception

Argh first month TTC after MC in December.... We're trying to do it without planning too much... Which I'm not too keen on... I'm a planning freak so I'm finding this "relax" take it as it comes difficult. I stayed pregnacare conception the moment dh decided he wanted to try again ... Up until now I thought he didn't want anymore so I'm a little shocked still. Anyways.... I'm between 2 and 4 days late. My cycles alternate 24 and 28... But I was due a 24 cycle. Hpt all negative and I don't feel pregnant...I usually just know and I don't get that feeling. I think the vits have messed things up... Anyone else experienced this? Any advice? This 🙂

I don't think the vitamins can mess things up in terms of interfering with your ability to conceive. I just thought they helped provide vitamins that would help towards your health and the health/development of a foetus. I could be wrong. Many people use the vitamins and I'd like to think that they would be removed from shelves if they had an adverse effect on cycles.

I read some reviews where cycles were messed up... But older reviews from 2014, wondering if anyone v had had issues recently...?

I have read those reviews, only just started on them myself so can't say.

However they do contain B6 so could be lengthening your luteal phase? It's only 10mg so wouldn't have thought that's enough but it's all I can think of. You definitely know when you ovulated?

Hulaballoo · 29/07/2017 22:53

Yeah it's odd 😳ov 15 days ago...

I don't know then! Maybe test again in a couple of days but other than that no idea sorry!

Emz01 · 29/07/2017 23:02

Hi OP,

I took pregnacare conception for two months, the first month I was 3 days later than usual and the following month I was 6 days later than usual. My cycles were always very regular and predictable, as soon as I stopped taking the pregnacare and swapped to just your usual folic acid and Vit D they returned to a normal length. So very frustrating! If you read the amazon reviews there are lots of women saying the same thing.

Hulaballoo · 29/07/2017 23:13

That's what I'm worried about... Think my body is sensitive with vits etc... Think I'll stop and swap to seven seas, less vits...I eat quite healthily so maybe it's too much?

I had this problem too. Pregnacare was not good for me. Normal vits ok thouugh

McTufty · 29/07/2017 23:26

Did you all find your ovulation was later or just that it took longer for AF to come post ovulation? Wondering if to stop taking them myself, except I have a short luteal phase and AF coming a few days later after I ovulate would be a good thing for me.

Emz01 · 29/07/2017 23:35

@Hulaballoo seven seas might be a better option although I've also heard that these can also affect your cycle too. That's why I just swapped to the standard folic acid and vit D, just didn't want to take the risk.

@McTufty no idea of when I ovulated as I wasn't using OPK's at that point. I normally feel when I ovulate but I couldn't when I was taking pregnacare.

Hulaballoo · 29/07/2017 23:52

I started taking them after ov... Hmm maybe I should do folic acid and bit D... Did that when I fell pregnant before then had a mmc. 😥was wondering maybe didn't have enough vits... Now I'm going round in circles eek

Folic acid and vit d only. That's all you need. Good luck! X

Cleozeta · 30/07/2017 09:55

Pregnacare conception delayed my period by 3 weeks and gave me pregnancy symptoms. Avoid like the plague!

SweetheartTreacleTart · 30/07/2017 19:49

Wow. This thread has totally put me off the vitamins now. I honestly thought they would have no effect on the cycle. Thanks for raising this OP.

user1490261811 · 30/07/2017 21:30

How much folic acid and vitamin D is recommended? I take pregnacare conception, but it's too expensive to continue buying.

Hulaballoo · 30/07/2017 22:40

Thanks for the replies. I've bought folic acid and vit D ... In pregnacare there's 400ug folic acid and 15ug vit D... Plus topped with some summer sun should help vit D too. AF still no show, still negative hpt but really don't feel pg either. .. just want it to arrive now so I can start afresh ...
