Could I be...?!

Hi all,

This is my first post and I'll just start by saying I know I won't know for definite until I take a test after two weeks but this symptom Googling is driving me mad and I was hoping for someone else's opinion!

My partner and I were a bit careless at the beginning of last month... I'll say no more! We're not trying but we want children one day and would be over the moon if it happened at any time.

I had a light, short (2days) period that started 26/06, so that was after the pill slip up at the beginning of the month. For the last week I've been feeling really nauseous but not actually been sick. I've not been sleeping well at night at all which isn't like me. But I've been sleeping until 10:30 at weekends because I'm so exhausted (probably partly due to not sleeping well?!)

We hadn't salmon curry for dinner the other night, I took leftovers to work with me the next day and the thought of eating fish made me want to be sick and I had to go and get a sandwich!

I've also got a weird lump in my throat feeling and am burping (sorry TMI) more than usual. I feel a bit seasick/travel sick but haven't actually been sick. I just get this like heaving sensation every now and again.

Without sounding weird, ive just been obsessed with babies/pregnancy for the last few weeks, before it crossed my mind that I could be pregnant.

I've been having the odd palpitation/dizzy spell and also headaches.

Period would have been due yesterday and I normally get super emotional the few days leading up to my period and quite bad cramps immediately before. No sign of this at the mo.

I know some of these are obvious pregnancy symptoms but also could easily be something else/in my head! The fact I had a brief period last month is making me think that I can't be, but I can't shake this sick feeling.

Thoughts welcome!! Smile xxx

If your period is past due, you can take a test any time.

demirose87 · 27/07/2017 13:33

The only way to know is to do a test. The symptoms you've described could be down to anything.

Gdee17 · 27/07/2017 13:55

Yeah I know... I thought it would be too early for a test to be accurate now?

If you were due yesterday it would show by now x

gamerchick · 27/07/2017 14:14

If your period was due then take a test.

StickThatInYourPipe · 27/07/2017 14:51

Do a test op! Smile

YoureNotASausage · 27/07/2017 14:53

You could have tested up to 5-6 days ago and found out. You will definitely get an accurate test if period was due yesterday.

Gdee17 · 27/07/2017 15:03

Wow okay thanks for all your help!

I'm sure I've read on test instructions before to take it two weeks from the date period is due... any ideas why? Or if I'm imagining it, that's probably more likely Confused

No, two weeks from conception! Which is usually when your period is due. The instructions are wrong.

YoureNotASausage · 27/07/2017 15:07

Or ovulation (as you are testing to see if conception happened or not).
