Hi all,

I'm a healthy 22 year old that isn't TTC but isn't opposed to the idea either. I first had suspicions I could be pregnant before my period was even due, mainly because I'd experienced some strange symptoms I wasn't sure of and when Dr Google brought up pregnancy it's been in my mind ever since (I know it's silly to Google...)

The first symptoms were black spots in front of my eyes and feeling suddenly very dizzy and tired. Not experienced that before but was able to put it down to general tiredness.

Fast forward...AF was due on the 15th and that's taking into account my usually late cycle (can be up to 35 days). Although I tend to err on the side of late, I always get period symptoms. Bad back ache low down, horrendous cramping days before I come on, brown spotting, sickness, boobs I can't even touch without intense pain.

I've got nothing this month. Even now I've had the slightest twinge of a cramp about 4 days ago last and nothing since. My nipples aren't even particularly sensitive.

I've done 2 tests, one three days ago and one today and both neg. I'm unsure as to what to do now other than await the period that feels like it's never going to come. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm aware home tests aren't always accurate and hormone levels and all that jazz but I'm wary about going for a blood test this early on.

For context, I'm in a 4 year rship and we use condoms (at the end) or pull out (please don't have a go, like I say I'm not actively preventing or I would happily be on BC pill) which is the only reason why I'm even entertaining the notion of pregnancy after these 2 neg tests.

Don't know what I want, poss some reassurance either way or just experiences!!! Thanks so much x x x

sorry to double post but I forgot to mention, other stuff I've experienced in the past few days that may be related (but I have a feeling it's just my paranoid mind linking things up)

  • diarrhoea
  • very "wet" discharge
  • wanting to do it literally constantly (oh has noticed this also obv)
  • weeing at night more (although it's normal for me to go once in the night, this is slightly more than average)

i think these may be psychological but i've never been this late for a period before or know much of what to expect symptom wise so included it to be safe x

If you are actively late and tests are negative then you are probably not pregnant. Not definitely not, but probably. Lots of things can cause lateness - late ovulation, stress, lots of exercise, weight loss, ovarian cyst, random anovulatory cycle which is quite common. If you get to about 10 days or so and still negatives you can go to GP for blood tests to confirm no pregnancy and see if there are any other hormone issues, but you will likely get your period eventually.

Thanks @sluttybartfast, I'm 11 days late at the moment taking into consideration a 35 day cycle which is usual, think I'll have to give it until 15 days late and then see a doctor
