Hi all,
My husband and I made the decision just over 2 months ago to start trying for our first baby, since then I have had no period....
I went to the Dr today and she has sent me for tests including hormones, fasting blood sugar and cholesterol. I understand the rational for the hormones but does anyone know why they would test for the other things?
I am otherwise healthy, I exercise 3 times a week (running) I eat a very healthy diet, always get 5 fruit and veg, bmi 19, no alcohol, don't smoke.... jeez I sound boring on paper! Confused
Anyone else having a problems? Or can shed some light on the blood tests?
If anyone has any positive stories after a rocky start I would love to hear.
Thanks in advance x x

Have you stopped birth control? It can take up to a year for your cycles to regulate. Please try not to worry. My first cycle off the pill was 50 days.

Yeah I stopped taking the pill in Jan, I then had several months of being like clockwork! Every 28days without fail.... now nothing!

This actually happened to me. I took 2 pregnancy tests, both of which were negative, sat tight and waited for af which never came. Also got myself booked in for testing. Took one last pregnancy test before starting the tests and it was positive! I was pregnant all along. I'm not saying you are pregnant but for me it explained the sudden disappearing af eventually and so could be a possibility? Have you tested?

I would love it if that was the answerGrin sadly I have done 4 tests now, last one last week and all have been negative! And they are expensive!! Angry I can see myself needing to take out a bank loan if things carry on this way!

You can get super cheap ones off the internet and they're no less effective. My gp recommended that until my af returned, we dtd every other day and test every 4 weeks. I know that doesn't give you any indication as to why your af has disappeared but it might at least give you something to focus on? I hope it returns asap!!

I'd say still you're in the realm of weirdness after stopping the pill. A few regular cycles unfortunately means squat as the pill can really mess up things. Fingers crossed it's that your pregnant and not just having a weird cycle. However a visit to the docs won't hurt. They might tell you the same as I have. 😐🙈 good luck!!
