Bleeding 2 weeks after period

Hi everyone! Just wondering if anyone had experienced something similar to this as its really worrying me.

2 weeks ago i had a normal period...a little late but apart from that it was completely normal.
On Saturday morning after going to the toilet there was fresh red blood on the tissue after wiping. I've had some cramps on and off but it doesn't feel like a period (mine are usually quite painful). I've had a pad on but there doesn't seem to be a lot on the pad, only when wiping.

This has completely thrown me as my periods are usually like clockwork and i've never had any bleeding in between before. It was the last thing i expected to wake up to.
I haven't taken a pregnancy test yet and i plan on trying to get a GP appointment this week.

I'm a midwife and thought i knew about this stuff, but obviously not
Has anyone got any advice?

Are you trying to conceive? Do you have a pregnancy test you can take?

We haven't been actively trying but we haven't been careful either! I can get a pregnancy test from work tomorrow! I just haven't been bothered about going out this weekend x

I'm sure there are lots of explanations, most harmless and there are lots of women on here who've had random periods/bleeding with no cause. The only time I experienced what you're describing is when I had my ectopic pregnancy, so if you do take a test and it is positive I would suggest you get checked out as soon as possible to rule out anything untoward. I'm not saying this to scare you but it is one possibility that should be explored.

Hi rlnx - I'm having a very similar issue and have been on and off over the past year, although it has settled over the past few months. On CD16 I started spotting and had some mild cramps, not I'm having small amounts of fresh blood. I have no idea what's going on :(
I had hoped at first that it might me implantation but knew that it was too early for this. I had a strangle tingling almost electric type in my nipple s which is new so hoped it wasn't early AF. Now I'm not sure.
We've been referred to see a specialist an are waiting the appointment.
Do you have any difference today?
