Has anyone got pregnant without PIV?

DH and I are TTC and I'm in my fertile window at the moment. We have had quite a lot of PIV sex over the last few days but today he was only up for a hand job (which is fine obv). Afterwards (sorry if TMI) I thought I may as well run my, ahem, sticky hands over and inside myself. Is it at all possible to conceive this way? Anyone got experience of it? Thanks :)

Well they taught us at school that it was certainly possible! But I'm pretty sceptical to be honest having ttc and realised despite the constant warnings, it's not that easy. The ejectulation fires sperm at an impressive speed at your cervix, I'd be surprised if the little guys could make it to where they need to be from being just put in the vagina.

It's not impossible I'd say but poor sperm would be knackered when it finally got to where it needs to be.

Was also warned about this at school... I think it's one of those things (like using non-sperm friendly lubes, or withdrawal) that if you were desperate not to be pregnant then you shouldn't take the chance, but they're really, really not good ways of becoming pregnant. However, if you've also had PIV in your fertile window then it sounds like this was a 'might as well', which makes sense.

That's why I asked - we must all have been taught it at school :) but I don't know how possible it is in real life! Anyone got any stories of it happening?

I don't think you're going to find any stories about this! I have seen women on here who due to problems with their partners (can't orgasm during sex) have inseminated themselves, but that's always a syringe job, not just smearing the stuff around... And even if you get pregnant this month, I think you'll have to chalk that up to the PIV not the handjob!
