My period is a week late, I've done two tests that are negative. Is there any way that I could be pregnant, I've got horrible tummy ache and feel like crap. Would an ectopic pregnancy still test positive??

i believe so, yes - certainly did when i had one. the hormone that is detected by a pg test tends to rise more slowly with an ectopic pregnancy, but can usually still be detected once the period is late

is your cycle normally regular?

what do you mean when you say you feel like crap?

i think they do,because the devoping embryo still secretes hcg.

maybe leave a couple of days and test again.

also,are you totally sure of your cycle lengths?

I feel a bit sick, i'm all spotty and really really tired.
My cycle is usually 25 daysand i'm up to 32 now

did you use first morning urine?because if you didnt,the hormone may not be concentrated enough yet.

maybe if you are still getting - hpts,try a blood test at the doctors?

It was the morning, the test said it didn't matter when, it's just so weird, apart from being pregnant i've never been late. I've got a doctors appointment on thursday so i'll see what they say.

good luck. if it helps, the pain with an ectopic would normally be considered severe - i.e. far worse than period cramps - mine certainly was

I don't want to get your hopes up too much (if you are hopeful) but I have three children and pregnancy tests did not show up for any of them until I was about six-eight weeks pregnant. I went to the Drs each time thinking I had food poisoning with the possibility of being pregnant so was sent for a scan.......

Hi dingolimpet. I tested four times with DS once my period was late. All negative. Showed up positive on day 42 of cycle, ie when period was about 2 weeks late. Hurrah. Had easy straightforward pregnancy and lovely DS is now 13 months. Hope same thing happens for you (if you want a baby that is!!).
