Hello!
Quick summary: there's a 15 year age gap between my partner and I. I'm in my mid twenties (female). We're both fit and healthy.

How long do we TTC before getting in touch with a doctor?
I've heard the 'try for 6 months' if you're 35+ and 'try for 12 months' if you're younger than 35...except we're both!

I know it's unlikely but I'd love to hear from anyone else in a similar situation too!

His age does play a role, but the woman's age is a bigger factor usually. I think they'd probably go off your age and tell you to wait 12 months. Don't get ahead of yourself though - there's no reason to think you'll have issues.

It's the woman's age they're talking about so you need to try for 12. Good luck!

There's not as much as 15 years between my partner and I, but 9 years which is still fairly hefty. He's 40 and I'm 31.

We got pregnant the month immediately after I came off the pill a couple of years ago but I then unfortunately had a missed miscarriage. After that it took 2 years for us to conceive but it's quite probably the stress from before that affected that.

I went to the doctor a year after the miscarriage and asked for tests but he essentially turned me away and said everything was fine and that they wouldn't do any tests based on my age as I was still 'young'! He didn't care about my partner's age at all.

I'm sure you'll both be fine and don't worry about the age thing. Good luck! 🤞

The age has to do with the womans ovaries. So in your case it will be twelve months.
